Non-Nav 06' TL Project Help
Hey guys, after reading up on multiple threads, FAQs, and mp3cars forum, I have decided to take a whack into my own project.
Here's what I am thinking of doing, any help and guidance is definitely appreciated. This will be my very first attempt at a build like this.
This thread is basically everything that I want to do: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-audio-bluetooth-electronics-navigation-94/2005-non-navi-%2Acarputer%2A-install-592670/
VoomPC-2 Car PC ( will this work? or should I go with something else?)
External USB HDD ( to easily add & remove music, will need another HDD for the OS correct? )
myron & davis ad212 DVD Drive (in dash like rockyfeller's, if I move the stock LCD into the bottom like theklassic did, then where would be a good place for the dvd drive?)
USB GPS antenna ( for navigation )
xenarc 7" touch screen display
P.I.E. X3 ( in order to get the audio to work, take out XM)
I have a really old gateway laptop that isn't used right now, would the work instead of having to buy the car PC, or since I'd need the power adapters and stuff anyway, might be easier to use the VoomPC?
Thanks guys, and of course I will post pictures of my progress and stuff, but I wanted to make sure all of this would work together before purchasing and messing with everything.
Thanks!!

Car PC isn't that hard to install but extend some wires for HVAC display incase if you move HVAC display to lower center console(there is 2 doors that one have cigarette power).
I used external USB DVD player so that, I can update my music via dvd drive.
My car pc is under driver seat(Small enough to slide in) because there is vent that air flow if you turn on the A/C so, Car PC won't get hot during sumer time.
Here is the picture of my CAR PC.
I hope this will help you.
____________
Good luck!

Thanks ikechun, do you have a separate forum for your work in progress? That is exactly what I want mine to look like, and like theklassic's
I think I will follow what he did, and then try and find a place for the a dvd drive; guess I can't put the dvd drive in the dash cause of the stock LCD, but that looks sick!
What are the specs for your PC? It would be nice to fit it under the seat instead of the trunk.

I removed factory light bulb on the button and replaced with blue LED (This need lots of work - Specially Soldering).
Here is my configuration.
* Jetway Mini ITX board P4 1.6Ghz with 1 Gb Ram
* 60Gb 2.5" Sata HDD for OS and Front End
* 250Gb 2.5" Sata HDD for MP3 and DVD Movie ( I have 12000 MP3's and 30 movies still left over planty space for future more)
* IBM External DVD Player/Burner ( Inside of Center Consol's Armrest)
* M2-ATX 160W power Supply.
* Morex Mini ITX Case - Can't Remember Model Number
* USB Bluetooth Dongle
* Global SAT 359 Bluetooth GPS Receiver
* Logitech DiNovo Wireless Mini KeyBoard
* Dynamix 814 8.4" Touch Screen LCD Monitor
* 4Port USB Hub and Card Reader
* Blitzsafe HON/AUX DMX V.2X AUX Input
* iGuidance 2009 GPS Software
* Game Pad (This is tricky I am using PCB Board inside of game PAD that connect to NAVI Bezel Circuit board and use emulator software assign as function keys (Arrow UP,DOWN,LEFT,RIGHT,ENTER,+,- something like that)
This require lots of skill and patuent.
I did all for around 900.00 compare to factory nav aftermarket conversion kit around 2k do only NAV and DVD(If you hack)
I will take some pictures tomorrow and will post it here afternoon.

If I do what moahdib did, https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...819&highlight=
and buy the Navi clock display and replace the non-navi one, then I don't have to move my HVAC display to the lower console and still have that untouched, correct?
The only place I could find it is at the acura estore so far for $250

I guess there is wiring modification needed since non navi and navi cables connections are different. If you have service manual then shouldn't have any problem tho.
None Navi Hvac is more than navi clock display.
Should search forum for makes sure it fit that you need.
