I checked again my 2020 SH-AWD ASPEC, and my vin number say there is no recall. Wonder why is that?
The supplier might of done a rolling engineering change on the fuel pump and your VIN may of got the newest revision. That’s my guess, but I’d double check with your dealership.
I used to work for a supplier that made a part for the RDX and when I left, there was already 5 revisions made over 3 years. Some were slight updates, some due to complaints, etc..
For example: On a Monday we might of shipped revision 4, but then on Tuesday we began building and shipping revision 5.

It could also be that they are doing recalls in phases to avoid everyone trying to call their dealer at the same time.

When you check the VIN #, will not show, got this notification from AcuraLink App., called my dealership today and they told me, they're aware of this recall, and told me they're waiting for the parts to come in and will let customer know when ready.
I wonder how this recall TSB-23-038 differs from TSB-21-014? There were parts available for the first TSB.
I think they are doing it in phases, first it was 2019, now they are moving to higher years. Older cars probably have higher chance of pump failure.
I dont think I remember anyone here saying their pump died, but plenty of reports about limp mode which is just as dangerous on highway, yet they decided not to recall turbo cooler that causes the issue?! The things they do make no sense.
I put our VIN in on the Acura site last night for our 2020 and there was no recall listed. I just did it again and now our car is included in the recall.
I had a recall S7D (TSB 20-026) performed in June 2020 entitled Safety Recall: 2019 RDX Fuel Pump Motor. I assume this week's recall is for the same issue that was addressed in 2020 for my 2019 RDX. As of yesterday, my VIN shows no outstanding safety recalls. So I assume that my vehicle needs no further work done with regard to the fuel pump. Or I suppose that it is possible that my replaced fuel pump was faulty and this week's recall includes that one. I guess I will check the Acura recall database every once in awhile to make sure that no new recalls have been issued for my VIN.
The part deteriorating with time, so they do those things in phases starting with older models first.
How many posts we saw here of fuel pump dying? Maybe one. But we have had many reports on limp mode on highway with dangers, yet there is no recall for it (TSB exists). This should be higher priority
We just received the recall notice in the mail today. The repair parts are not expected to be available until this fall though.
The car is running fine so far thankfully and I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it stays that way until the repair can be made..

what year your RDX? they will prioritize older years first.
I have 2020 and only received recall notice electronically, nothing in mail.
I actually scheduled an appointment and lady said they have parts to do it (I asked her 3 times)
it was waste of time because when I came, they said they dont have parts and that I need to wait for 2nd letter (whatever that means)

Our car is a 2020 model built in Sept. of 2019.
Oh that would be frustrating, telling you the parts are available and then when you show up, oops sorry.
The recall notice mentions waiting for the follow-up letter and then bringing the car in.

I got he same letter.
The second letter is the one that says c'mon in, then parts are here.
It says that in this letter....
Just curious - has anyone had the recall performed yet? I haven't called any of the local dealers to see if they have the parts and/or are performing the recall at this point. Technically "Fall" started on Sunday 9/22............
I think only some 2019 owners had it done, still waiting for my 2020…
Its useless to call them, they want you to first get a second letter. They do have the parts, but its prioritized for older/disabled cars first

Any idea how / when the dealers migrate to the next MY? I know I can call my local dealer and ask, but figured hear to get a broader answer. IIRC the recall letter said something about giving priority to owners that have vehicles that are experiencing symptoms and to your point, older models would likely have a higher likelihood of failure.

I had a fuel pump recall completed on my 2019 RDX back in 2020 Recall S7D, TSB 20-026. When I just now looked for active recalls against my VIN, it says no active recalls. This could mean that the 2020 recall took care of it or it needs another recall, but not active yet because of lack of parts. I have not received any personalized mail on this yet. So I guess I will just motor along for now and ask the dealer service department the next time I go in for preventative maintenance.
It's a 2020 with a build date of 9/19. The return address on the envelope is in Santa Ana, CA.
If all the letters are going out from there maybe it will take a couple extra days to get to the east coast.
Before taking your vehicle, I would call them to verify they have a part in stock. Make sure you speak with parts department or someone who is knowledgable. Often times they have no clue and will just tell you to come in and say they have all the parts ready (when they dont), and its a waste of trip.
My sister has a 2019 Honda Ridgeline with the open fuel pump recall. She lives a few miles from us so I called her today and she has not received a notice about the parts being available so I'm probably all wet about the mail delay to the east coast.
So I called our local dealer this morning and they don't have the parts. Apparently the parts are just trickling in from Acura and they wait until they get a few in stock and then they call a group of customers to schedule the appointment. We're on the list now and the lady said it could be anywhere from a week to a month before we hear back from them.
I called Acura to inquire when parts might be available a couple of weeks ago and they bumped me along to an advisor who said my local dealer would call me in a couple of days to set up an appointment. That never happened but I then got the letter in the mail a couple of days ago saying take the car in to the dealer (coincidence?). So I called my dealer and they said they'd need to order the part and gave me an appointment for next week. I go back and forth between IL and MI in my 2019 a lot so I'll be happy to have it done. *fingers crossed*

At least they can order for you, for me they said call again in January…. This is not good, if they send you a letter saying to make appointment with your dealer I should not have to keep calling them….
