Error Message when trying AD's OK patch
Has anyone received a "C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\AUTOEXEC.NT. The system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Windows applications." error, when attempting to use AD's OK patch? Please advise...

I wish someone would figure out the OK on the 07's. I get in and out of car each day and its a royal pain. It's a routine, reach for seatbelt, by the time the belt is on the navi is ready for ok. God would it be great if i didnt need to do it.

It's basically the same as a hack for the 2006 Civic. Guy named Guicide has some instructions online here: http://www.guicide.com/cars/2006civic/nav/hacks/ . Instead of using his 06AVN2.bin file, you use the 07Touch2.bin file from the TL v4.55 DVD. All the other instructions are pretty much the same. (They are very detailed, so even a computer novice should be able to follow without a problem.)
Pay special attention to the file size. Has to be 480 by 234 pixels and 256 colors BMP and you need to use his 8to16 program on it. Some of the Graphics in the TL thread are a different size. (off by a few pixels). I used the Lo/Jack graphic, increased the size using Paint and saved it and used it, no problem.
You do have to use a DVD (dual layer) to burn it correctly (UDF). I used DVD-R, not sure if an RW will work (do they even make Dual Layer RW disks?). Heard reports no for the 06, but haven't tested it on the 07 yet.
The Load instructions are off by just a little. You shouldn't get the "error" screen that he got for the Civic, but the rest of the procedures are the same to bring up the diagnostics menu and download the new DVD info. Once you boot and hit ok, do the keypresses and download like he shows.
Now... Working on the OK screen text and elimination of the OK button are our next challenges.

VoodooSS,
Your navi system may not be loading that BIN file. To check which file is loading (and the one that you should mod) follow these steps...
1. At the main screen of the navigation system, hold down
the Map/Guide, Menu, and Cancel buttons for 5 seconds.
2. Hit the "Version" button on the touch screen.
3. Hold down the Menu button for 5 seconds.
4. Write down the filename next to the words "Loading
Filename" (it may not be BNHH401A.BIN).
Oh, and I created several coasters before I decided to check if I was moding the correct file
Once I figured that out, everything was smooth

As BBoz said above, you need to use 07Touch2.bin.
The other difference is the name of the bitmap you extract and replace is Opening1.bmp, not Opening.bmp.
The command lines are case sensitive, so be sure you type the filenames correctly.

I have an '05 TL using the files graciously supplied by kennyc. I only have the extra menus and did not disable the nag or change my splash screen. Yesterday I noticed my Calendar was not available in "US" mode but was available in "Canadian" mode. I reloaded the factory DVD and my calendar now works regardless. Can anyone confirm this? (v3.4 I think. Not @ Car)

No wallpaper - Fixed nag & trip - V3.4
Hi all,
I followed the GREAT instruction provided on the sticky, and was able to do all of the fixes in one try, except, I do not get any wallpaper now.
When it starts up it is a black screen until it says:
Loading Navigation.......
Please wait......
Then it goes to the map screen.
Obviously the no-nag (and the trip computer) are now working, but I obviously did something wrong regarding my wallpaper.
Any ideas? (It said it replaced the image OK when i did the dumpnavi bnhh401a.bin update Back.bmp)

For the wallpaper, what image did you use, one of your own or one from the image thread? If you used your own, check again that the format met the required specs.

I have an 04 TL Canadian model that uses the BN2HH12C.bin file. I have been able to change the splash screen but nothing else. I am using kennyc trimmed files, as is, and dumpnavi to load them into the bin file. I burned the file along with the loader file onto a CD-RW using Nero 7. All seems well when its loading. However the only thing that changes is the splash screen. On the last load, I changed the splash screen in the file to be sure it was loading. First I loaded the 3.50 bin to get back to stock. Then I loaded the new bin file with the changed splash screen. To my surprise I didn't get the original splash or the new splash. I got the one that I had loaded on my previous burn back again. To be sure, I dumped the bin file to check the splash and it was the new one. Does the navi have a backup area from which it loads the last successful bin if the current bin is damaged or corrupted? Maybe I need to disconnect the power like another guy on this thread did.

Wallpaper / splash screen issue
All - figured out my problem with the wallpaper / splash screen. It was an ID10T error for those computer people out there (or PEBCAK if you prefer)
I thought the images posted on the image link were ready for uploading into the BIN file if they were already in the BMP format.
For those as slow as I am
You MUST follow the instructions on page 1 - i.e open the pic, and then save it as a 256color BMP image
-here is where I had my problem - if you simply save it as a 256 color BMP it looks like crap.
-to get a good image in 256 you must use a program that allows you to use "indexed" mode. The only program i found so far for free is doing a demo for 30 days or photoshop.
If anyone else is aware of a freeware tool that will convert images to indexed mode PLEASE let me know.
-Thanks

I figured out how to do the splash screen, OK button, and the trip computer/AC controls hack for version 3.30G (with some help from one of my IT friends). If somebody wants it and can tell me an easy way to get it to them I'll try to do it. The only problem is the bin file is about 9.5 MB fully zipped so I may not be able to email it (but will try). The only thing you'll need to do is pick out your own splash screen and change that yourself (very easy to do, just use the DumpNAVI - graphical program listed in the first post and make sure your image fits the criteria). Don't ask me to PM you because I don't have that option activated yet (newbie to this forum). Hope this helps you guys out. Thanks to the people in this thread for providing this info, I didn't even know you could do this until I stumbled across the thread.
Also - me giving out a copy of my .bin file is no big deal right? The .bin file isn't somehow linked to my specific disk is it??

Jobondur,
I would love it if you emailed me with the 3.30g version. If you use AIM, we can do a file transfer over that.

hi i have been reading all the threads, I then tried to use AngryDads links via the first post, which now just has a message about these forums and doesnt link to anywhere.
I was wondering what his trip computer does specifically?
Also where can you get an up to date disc? there is alot of construction where I live and roads have changed, and I get alot of 'No POI at this number' messages when using the phone number feature of my navi.
When I get off work, I need to find out what navi version I have and start this process, so no doubt I will be posting again.

I'll even pay for a cd to get rid of the OK screen....that is worth $50 to anyone that figures out how to get rid of the OK button on an '07. I do not need any of the other hacks.
PM me or email me at flyinlow78@yahoo.com.

Stang - I'll try to get a copy of the bin emailed to you in the next day or two. Just make sure when you try to load it into your car that you burn that file and the loader file (BN2HHMLD.BIN from your dvd) to the cd. I'm pretty sure you need both of those files on the disc to load successfully.
The trip computer does a couple of things. It has pretty much all the functionality that your dash trip computer has plus it also shows your instantaneous fuel efficiency in the form of a moving bar graph (ranges from 0 - 50 mpg). The trip computer hack also gives you A/C controls on your screen and your diagnostic screen at the push of a button. It puts all these functions under the info button menu.

THANKS! Really appreciate it. I've waited SO long for someone to help me out with this hack (I have a Mac... Rendering me unable to do any of the hacking).
I'll use my girlfriend's computer to change the image.
Take it easy

do you know what the tire-calibrate stands for in the navi-hack? cause I pressed the button for "SET" and it was at level 10 than it dropped down to level 2, after i pushed the button

I have version 3.40c, is it possible someone could send me the disc image for this with all the Angry Dad mods on it.
I would like to use my own image for my wallpaper, so I would also appreciate it if you could tell me what to do from the main instructions at the beginning of this thread.
as in what file do I need to edit if you send me the disc image.
post here or PM me and I can pm you my AIM, xfire, or email address or whatever works best for transferring the disc image to me.
Thanks in Advance!
Also.....
I am lightly considering getting an updated disc so does anyone have a link as to where one can buy a more updated disc? And is there anyway to know how much it is updated before you buy it to see if its really worth it?

Virtual PC?! Yikes. I had that on a couple different Macs in the past and could not deal with the painstakingly slow operation of Windows. This is probably due in part to me being used to fast, powerful PCs, but still. I just couldn't hang. Then again, I think that was back in the days of the G4 processor, so that could've had something to do with it.
Regardless, I'm glad it worked for you.

Oh no. No matter how you slice it, Virtual PC is still a dog. It was painfully slow at times, but I didn't have any hickups. I figured it would be an interesting exercise to see if I could get it to work. (It beats doing real work.
)
I also have since tried doing the hacks on a MacPro (Quad 3.0 GHz Xeons) using Parallels. That was a pleasure. Again with that setup, once I had modified the files, I copied them over to the Mac side and burned them to a disc using Toast.
