thank to all you TL folks and TSX foks too for that matter for laying the ground work for all these hacks. I wouldn't have known where to start on the RDX nav without all this great stuff.
I also have the white disk, however, mine is 06 Accord, if you find the OK hack please let me know......

You could probably run virtual pc and do it or parallax on the intel macs, but if you are asking what I think you are asking then the answer is no, you can't do it natively with a mac program.

Anyone know the few lines I need to change on 3.60 so I can have the Trip and Diag shortcut?

I dont want to replace the file with an older one, as I just did a hex compare and it has 92020 diffrent changes in the code... I want to keep this as clean/neat as possible.

As for the OK I could care less on that, but if possibly others will like I am sure. I dont always use the navi and like that it will turn off on its own if I just dont do anything.

Well, thought I would share my luck... I manually went into the file and modified the sections that matched the sections on the old disk that were modified for the trip computer and it failed... The disk loaded fine in the car, but when I hit information it just rebooted itself...

The two files have the same sections once you find them, there locations are diffrent because they seem to have added a lot of code changes or simply just moved things around for whatever cause but just no go.

Its funny, they modified every file on the new disk. Even the trip computer file is not the same anymore.

I wonder if they did some code cleanup or just simply wanted to break our mods...

Non-less anyone else good at this and want to give it a try let me know, I have the original files and the now modded one I tried that failed.

For the section "How to load my custom bin back into the car?" do burn it as a data cd onto a CD-R?

You should see how different the 4.55 files are. Not even close to the same. The bmp startup screen file is not a standard bmp file type. there is no navi.exe. and different bin files if you have touch screen or jog dial.

Question can we create Navi DVD with Canada's map for 2nd gen TLs

The latest Navi upgrade DVD for the 2nd generation of TLs (black, version 2.40) does not have Canada's map.
Since Acura does not bother to upgrade the 2nd generation Navi's DVD with the Canada's info , I am thinking is there a way to create a DVD, which would have USA (from the black DVD version 2.40) and Canada (from the orange DVD version 3.60) information.
Or is there a way to modify the orange DVD version 3.60 so it would work on the Navi for the 2nd generation TLs.

just did the Ok button mod and the background image mod and both turned out great, the only snag was I had to use kennyc's modified navi.exe because mine was too large are the mods.

This work for the loading image aswell? I'm thinking about dropping the $190 for the updates, but want to make sure that I can still change the loading image. I have an Accord so already have the trip.

Wow, I got this to work on the first try and it only took about 20 minutes!
I was putting this off because I thought it would be too difficult, but I had no problems at all.
I just went on a roadtrip and the trip computer was awesome, and I love having a personalized startup pic and no ok button!
Thanks kennyc and angrydad!!!

I loaded my custom wallpaper and it's the proper dimension and size as the default acura wallpaper but when I started up the car, the image look longer to load up and didn't stay long enough because the nag screen came on. There's gotta be a way to replace the nag screen with the same image or take it out all together...If I can get access to the source code I could look into it...

For the trip computer hack, how do you extract the HMIManager.exe from the BNHH401A.BIN before replacing it with the patch? Do we need a specific dumpNAVI.exe in order to do this because the dumpNAVI graphics/console only extracts BMP files, not HMI files.

From the first post:
4. Type "dumpnavi BNHH401A.BIN extract" This will extract everything within that BIN file into a folder named BNHH401A
5. Find a file named HMIManager.exe in that folder and copy it out to the same folder as AD's TC patch.

Anyone wana try to figure this out for the 3.60 files to get the trip computer?

I am willing to provide the files, but I had no luck when I attempted. I dont want to replace them with the older ones as the version of the files are diffrent so I rather keep as the right files.

Thxs

New startup image, OK button bypassed with AD's patch (I used 3.40c even though I have 3.50 due to a known problem with the navi.exe file size), then patched over that with AD work-around. Got it on the second try. For those that haven't done it yet and are wondering exactly what this does/looks like, here's a clip.

Sorry the sound is terrible.

I used the info/instructions from this thread as well as from:
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=146686

This is a great little mod that took me (a non-computer oriented person) only about 2 hours to figure out and complete. All the instructions were pretty clear. Thanks, everyone!

ok i have a 06 TSX. i have now wasted 8 cds and 2 dvd's trying to make this work. I repeadedly get the error "check your disk" after the car tries to load the software. I have one successful dvd load the new image, but the image came up black screen instead of a picture. I am now too frustrated to keep wasting money. BTW i am using 4.3 software. anyone else have this? I searched my navi disk and i have no navi.exe file. I tried to download the file and hack it and put it in my bin file and nothing works. Someone please help. I know my error is first the way the picture is turning out..... but it's a 110. and also maybe it's my burning software...... but i used 2 different burners and the car accepted it once already.

4.xx is nothing like 3.xx. There is no nag screen hack or trip computer hack. At least not that I have heard of yet. And as far as the startup image goes, the bmp file is not a standard bmp format. You likely need to convert your bmp file to a bmp format the nav computer can read. The tools are on this thread I think. you need the 8to16.exe tool to make the image file the correct format. But you have to massage it all to be the right file size etc. Kind of a pain to go through for a few seconds of startup screen.

If it won'tload then yes, it probably is your burning. try burning only the necessary files to a CDR and load from that. that guicide link is terrific for 4.xx....

WICKEDFX, try using CDRWs to save disks. I've done some of the hacks with TDK CDRWs.

Make sure your images are the correct size and be sure to change them to bmp.

For 3.30F do you run the same patch as the 3.40/3.50? Do I just ignore all the error messages it spits out?? Thanks!!

I have developed the new version of CEBin 0.5.
There are many bugfixes and two new commands: addFile, patchFile.
I put some examples of command files into the archive.
Please note that they are only examples. Your command files may(actually, has to) be different.

I need volunteers to test it.
A volunteer should be familiar with the old version.
Please report failures as well as successes to the email in readme.txt
Your comments are welcome too.
I would also appreciate if somebody writes a more clear instruction for CEBin and provides more examples.

Sorry for my English.

So i figured out that somehow the image is not doing well in photoshop. when i save it with photoshop the 8to16 gives and error when trying to convert. So is there some type of compressing layers or flatten image type of thing i should do to make it work right? when you guys make your image what do you do to it before saving?

From the old summary thread: Hack Your Navi Summarized! (Change pics and remove nag screen)

What are you talking about? Interested

I'm generally dissatisfied with the navi system in my 2006 TL, but I have no idea what the hell you guys are talking about! I think I get the getting rid of/bypassing the need to press the "OK" button when it comes up on the screen, but what is the thing with the trip computer/angry dad thing? I know what the trip meter is-there are 2 (A and B), but is that what you are talking about? Please explain, I'm interested. Thanks. Oh, and by dissatisfied, I'm talking about the general inability of this navi system to find anything at all, compared to my handheld Garmin V, which Alpine admits has a much bigger database. Anything that can be done in this area?
