I have a 2004 TL with an orange disk version 3.03E, but I am not finding this file when I open it in my pc: BNHH401A.BIN. What can I do, I would like the hacks of the trip computer, a/c controls/ etc as well as the wallpaper hack. Can someone please help me, I just got the car and am very excited to do this and make the first mod to the car! Thanks

However, when I re-loaded my navi DVD (version 4.61) I got a message that the disc was an older version than the current program - check disc.
So, I'm back to the old splash.

The download worked fine for me (not corrupted). The new splash loaded and displayed properly.

I found the .rar utilities file I uploaded for version 3.40c (2005 TL) a while ago is no longer available on hotfile.com. I've uploaded a cleaned up file since it may help someone out here.
It contains a couple of text files with helpful info I've kept, my BNHH401A.BIN file, bysin's dumpnavi (command line), HMIManager.exe, navi.exe_340c_with_patch, and navistart.bmp (sample graphic file).

Sorry about the messy rar file with the zip file inside that I posted. I was trying to make sure I got all the files and went back and added some more without knowing one of the zip files had them already. Some of the exe files I renamed adding to the name after the .exe. Just rename them if you want to execute them.
Sounds like the 2004 uses a different file to boot from than the 2005 even using the same version Navigation disk. You'll have to modify your boot file. Try changing just the background and burning to a CD to see if you can get it to work. Use the readme.txt file from Bysin. I have some background sizing notes from others I below.
Also I'm using CD-R Verbatim disks but other brands should also be fine.

You can make the image smaller than 480x234 pixels, or with less than 273 colors, if needed.
The image must also be adjusted for non-square pixels, as originally posted by Arcticcl9:
===========================
keep the color, you can even keep the 256 color and not have to reduce it to 173 like other people.... keep the quality of the pic, you dont want a crappy picture right? make sure its under 113,000. check and double check by right clicking on it and going to properties or highlighting it before you open it in photoshop. if its too big, then use photoshop or any other pic editor and slice off a very thin piece off one side, small as possible, it should
be ok then, check before you use the dumpnav prog to alter the bin file. only alter the bin file once. you cannot keep trying to alter a specific bin file with a diff pic. it'll mess it up and you'll have to start from scratch.
so make sure the picture is the correct size before modifying the bin file.
the nav will automatically stretch the pic to fit on the screen

Since some of you seem to be enjoying the cf splash screen I created, I decided to release an updated version. This one has a smaller, tighter cf pattern, badges have been blacked out, and drop shadows applied.

okay just a couple of questions.
Is the splash screen the only hack for the white disk? (4.81)
and is it simple to do? and if you do mess up, can you put your original disk back in and reset it to original?

A quick thanks to 'Netdriver' for all the work on the newer screen... it really looks sweet on my computer... however, as the original TL-S mod screen looks somewhat dark on my navi already, I probably won't be upgrading to this one, unfortunately, as it looks even darker... any way of bringing up the contrast a bit? .... how does it look in your cockpit?

Alright guys, I got a hold of the modified files. You can download those files here: http://db.tt/pS0O8nc
THIS IS NOT THE COMPLETE NAVIGATION DISK, JUST THE MODIFIED SPLASH SCREEN FILES
When you download the .zip, unzip the files and burn them on a blank CD. dont do anything to these files
follow these steps:
1. Turn the ignition to Acc 1. Open the DVD reader's front panel and wait until you get an error message on the Navi screen.
2. Remove the DVD if necessary, insert your CD and close the flap
3. Press and hold Menu, Map/Guide and Cancel simultaneously for about 5 seconds until the Diagnostic menu appears.
4. Select Version
5. Select DownLoad and press the button
If all is ok with your CD the transfer should start. After about 20 seconds you should get a message telling you not to turn off the engine. This is followed by a progress bar.
The transfer takes about 3 minutes after which the Navi will reboot. If all has gone well you should see your new image followed by an error saying the wrong disk is inserted. Put the DVD back in and turn the ignition off and back on again.
and that is it. It should work.
Thank you to TL-S NCO who supplied the files and instructions. I did not do anything besides put them here for you

Retrieve Previous Destination History with NAV
I am very impressed with your technical knowledge and the way you presented your information on Navigation Hack Guide thread. Would you know of a way that I can retrieve previously deleted addresses and destinations?
Thanks,
Thanks,

Can anyone help me to recover or restore previous destinations and address book that was accidentally deleted two months ago on a 2005 Acura MDX or suggest how to recover these files. Many thanks.

Happy New Year guys. I recently purchased a 2006 TL w/nav. I thought I'd do myself a favor and update to the latest orange nav disk (v3.BO) After doing so I realized that the previous owner did some of these hacks/mods and I'd love to re-do them, especially the "OK" mod. I have a copy of the disks he used to do the original hacks I'm wondering if they will work on the new version or if I need to burn new disks to make this happen. Any help would be appriciated.

I will type "c:" (without the prompt) and press enter. Then type in "cd navi" and press enter.
can someone explain that? I was in the Command black screen and i typed "c:" without quotes and nothing happened. And what does without the prompt mean?

you are in the black screen and there is a prompt that probably looks like:
C:\>
but it might look more like this: C:\users\your name>
If it doesn't start with C: then you need to type
C:
but otherwise just go to the next step, type:
cd \navi
now the prompt should look like this:
C:\NAVI>
which hopefully is the location where you put your files.
