Equalizer unit.

Equalizer unit.
is it possible to install an equalizer unit in the TL without overriding the factory stereo control unit( using the original system but add more spice to the sound from the equalizer unit)? I just wanna add a little more customization to the Tl' sound system. Have anyone done it?
for example, a unit looks like this installed in the TL
EDIT: please move this thread to the 3G section.

^ im sorry, can you rephrase what you said above to make it simplier. i am a complete newb to car electrical components. And i plan to install the eq unit inside the glove box compartment.

Bro I had that exact model eq in a Ford Escort back in 1994, no offense. It's very old and HUGE. I'm sure it wouldn't even fit in the glove compartment at all. Look around online and you'll find some that are far better than the one pictured. Hopefully someone who already have an eq in their whip will chime in to help you.

Post #2 was the most accurate info for adding a eq between the stock head unit and amp but you might be better off with an Audio Control 3.1 or 4.1 in the glove box. Also, you would need an experienced installer to wire everything neatly and correctly.
If are in the quest for better sound from your stock stereo there are far easier alternatives that would yield better results. just swapping out the front speakers and tweeters will do this. you probably realize the midrange is real muddy sounding and the highs are kinda bright. Search the forums there are drop in alternatives that people have had success with, from infinty i believe. Our stock stereo is a good starting point. it's everything else that can be replaced for better sound.
