Volvo S60R

I was getting off the exit and this guy with an R flies right by me very close to my car...im not like wtf this guy wants...i think he wants a piece of me lol!

I catch him and I give him the "wtf you want, you wanna race" look! I wasnt sure about this race since last year I raced an R with my buddy's '03 Z (13.9@101) and from 60-120 it was even and I feel his Z's faster than my TL!

Anyway, 3rd gear roll @ 75....he got the jump! 75-125...beat him 2 cars.

Stock S60R + Auto tranny + AWD = roll turtle lol!

Took the next exit!

Very nice kill! I didn't know the S60R came in auto. You think the 6MT could have beat you in that race?

Honestly, I thought about getting the Volvo before my TL. But they were expensive and I didn't think the reliability was that good. I've seen a few modded S60R's take out M3's easily

For sure the stick and a good driver would of been a different outcome. From what i read over the net, the R 6MT is a second slower on the quarter mile than auto tranny just like the MT and AT TL base.

This is what it looks like a stock auto S60R...not a fast car but with that turbo they can be for sure, still prefer my n/a 3.2...for now!

I was also looking at this car before my TL...but the backseat is tight and reliability was an issue for me.

Not a bad car in and of itself and I wouldnt mind having a good condition used one if the price were right. It was just too pricey for my tastes when it first debuted, particularly with respect to its Japanese competitors.

Back to he topic at hand, nice kill. A 6MT TL should make short work of an AT S60R.

There are A LOT of mods available for the S60R to make it a decently quick car (esp. when in 6-speed form). Very easy to get them deep in the 13s 1/4 mile wise. Nice run.

I was looking for a s60R prior to getting my TL, but for the amount I was looking to spend they had too many miles. Plus I ran out of patience looking for a black manual with Atacama color interior.

I'm glad I got the TL, the s60R's loose a lot of power because the intercooler is not efficient enough, not to mention their awd drivetrain.

Now my '90 740 Turbo is a nice reliable beater. I wish Volvo's were as reliable as their older models (740's, 240's) I'm at 258k miles boosting 15psi stock everything except injectors. At one point last year, I was up to 22psi and this car is a tank. This summers setup I'm shooting for 300rwhp
