R-80 also from Volvo

Volvo is producing an R edition of its S80. Due late next year, the high-performance model will get a 2.5-litre 300bhp engine, 4WD and a version of the Four-C suspension seen on the S60R and V70R. Prices are likely to start at around £40,000.

why only 300, that seems weak for the top of the line

Will that even make it into the same category as a 540i? Looks like it will only compete at the GS430 level. They should have made a 400hp beast to go up against the E55 and M5.

no, that cant be, the S60R has 300 hp and awd an S80R with the same specs doesnt sound right man.

That was my first thought. Why go from the 2.8 liter twin turbo to 2.5 liter turbo for a little more power?
