Used TL purchase

What do guys think about this deal?? $ 23,900.00

05 TL w/ Navi 6-MT 23,200 miles

Clean, non smoker int. The color ext & int I want -->
No spoiler--> do not want spoiler. Nice light tint I wanted to get.

Some very minor body issues I can fix or cover with the A-Spec kit. The bumper has been painted twice, once complete, another spot repair with a horrible clear blend ( fixable) road rash on bottom. The hood has been painted, paintwork is decent. There is no rock chips on the front end, guessing that's the reason for the paint work, every thing else is OE paint. Clean carfax, no flood, extensive body work. I still have to test drive and inspect further. I have a warranty report with some minor warranty work, brake pads, wiper motor/assembly, battery

I think its a fair deal for the low mileage. I also don't have much more of a budget to go new or spend more.

Find out who painted the bumper and hood. Was it CarMax or the previous owner. If it was the previous owner and if he/she ( I am too pc !! ) was also the original owner, then it would say a lot about how well the car was maintained.

Oh, and if nothing else, at least get the front lip. It makes such a difference in the appearance.

It wasn't done real recently. I checked to see if it was fresh and also has a few very light scuffs and scratched. Carmax claimed it had no paint work after I specifically asked before I came out to look at it. The salesman told me an inspector thats familiar with auto work would check it then call back. It's not surprising at all though, very common parts that get refinished. The interior is very clean, only the drivers floor mat has the usual minimal wear. Considering the year and area it came from I was expecting at least a few rock chips, but there wasn't even one noticeable.

The first thing I will get is coilovers or springs/koni's. Then full A-Spec lip kit, so the bottom rash is no prob.

I don't know if it's the angle or lighting, but the "v" part of the upper grille isn't flush with the bumper. Looking at the pictures I don't see any mismatch in color. You should look over the car in the daytime to make sure. It's such a great deal that you have to be extra cautious that it's free of any flaws/defects.

The rear bumper is mismatched slightly, looks acceptable at some angles, but that's generally how certain colors come from the factory. Acura is pretty bad with their acceptability judgment. I do need to inspect further in day light. If everything goes well I'm probably going to get it.

Seems like a decent deal. I just paid 23,500 for an '06 6MT Non Nav with 42K, (Acura Certified) which I thought was pretty good, although it will need new rubber by Fall. I'm assuming this one is not certified, so I'd offer 22k and work up from there.

Seems like a decent deal. I just bought an '05 TL AT w/ Nav, 31K miles for $23,700, certified too Mine had a couple scratches here and there, but will get buffed out as soon as the snow melts.

I got mines for $23,000 50K miles. That used TL your getting is a good deal. You have to accept the back bumper is mismatch. I would like to repaint mine. If you have the money do it cause I dont think the acura dealer will cover it under warranty.

24,000 for a 3 year old car with some paint mismatch is steep. I do not care what the mileage is at this point. 22,000 is about average for an 05 so I would not spend more than that especially since you have to make repairs. If you need to spend 600 you are talking about creeping towards 25k. And check the rubber since the tires could be original and need to be replaced. That would be another grand. I would stay away and depending on budget, I would look at the 06s.

Judging from what you've said, I'd be pretty suspiscious.

- The bumper has been painted twice
- There is no rock chips on the front end, guessing that's the reason for the paint work, every thing else is OE paint.
- the "v" part of the upper grille isn't flush with the bumper

probably just me, but that sounds like its been in a wreck. Check the title, just to be safe.
