STI seats in TL?

Any ideas if I could fit 04-05 cloth STI seats in my 05 TL?

I know it's a crazy idea to most of you, and I realize I'll loose my power and heated seats.

I also like these DC5 seats.

Is it just a matter of finding tracks that fit?

Do you track your car?

If not, and you do this, then I wouldn't approve.

No I don't, but I don't really mind who does and doesn't improve.

Don't get the wrong impression, I'm not making the car a "ricer" in any way. Just looking for minor upgrades to make the car more JDM, I'd be using all authentic parts.

Also it's hot here in the summer and my interior is always on fire with all black. I hate the tiny space between the seat and middle console, the stock seats are beasts. I'd probably save a lot of weight, and I don't care about the power seats I don't adjust it often.

If you find authentic JDM parts for our TL's then please share the source!

Our TL's were only sold in the US, Canada and China. I believe they were built in Ohio.

LOL - I didn't ask for anyone's opinion. Just help on fitment. Thanks for those links!

The STI and Recaros are authentic and from JDM cars. Just because the TL itself isn't JDM doesn't bother me, it's still a Acura/Honda.

I decided I'd rather the carbon fiber Bride seats. Wouldn't stand out as much with the black and more comfort provided, unfortunately at triple the price and they aren't from JDM cars, but they're brand new also.

you could do recaro speeds.... brand new also...

forget the criticism I think you used poor choice of words... rather than talk about jdm you want racing seats for what they are, better side bolsters, much more advantageous in the corners

so yes I'd rock a pair of recaro speeds (2tone) if I were you

Good luck on your non-jdm but jdm car.

I agree on poor choice of words, no big deal.

I like those Speeds, I think they'd fit well with the interior. Look comfortable as well.

I learned that some time ago, that's why I laughed about it rather than justifying myself or arguing

Sorry, I forgot to include pics of my seats. Be sure to read Post #348, which explains different mounting options.

Explain to me one thing, why the hell would you want to swap in the hideous usdm GD STi seats? Not only would they look horrible in a TL, but they are less supportive then the stock seats. If you want to put an STi seat in the TL you should put in Spec C seats. Alot more bolster support and they're black Alcantara. If you don't want something as ghetto, Evo IX seats or the optional Leather Recaro's would be alot better of a choice for the TL. DC5R Recaro's also come in black if you like those, and they are extremely aggresive. Had a set in my RSX, loved them to death but had to explain to people how to get in and out of them all day long.

I would love a slightly more bolstered seat in the TL. IS350 seats arent too bad been thinkin about putting those in if not just swap out the drivers seat since I do not really care.

the seats on the 4th Gen TL (especially the SH-AWD) and 3rd Gen TSX are slightly more bolstered than the ones on the 3G TL and should theoretically work with minor (if any) modifications. did you try and look at those?

Kinda resurrecting this thread but I thought it would be helpful to point out that STI seats also way almost 50 lbs a piece which doesn't make it very beneficial to put them in. You could get a more bolstered seat, that weighs less than half the STI seat and probably spend half the money and be MUCH better off.

STI seats also say "STI" on them, which would make them pretty retarded to put into a TL. At least the older STI seats did.

Never saw this thread but just in case you're still debating it-

1) Yes, actually you would be making it a ricer.
2) There isn't anything JDM about your car. It was made in Ohio...

Hey, at least the Honda Integra was a real car! There is not a Honda equivalent of the 4G TL.

But yeah, now that you mention it, I guess if they put "H" badges on a 2G Integra but don't change over to the 1-piece headlamps, that's technically just as bad - "converting" to a design that doesn't really exist.

For the same reasons, I would never put "Inspire" badging on my '04 Accord EX-L. It's an I4, not a V6. There's no such thing as an I4 Inspire.

Unless you can afford a set of Sportster CS's, then don't waste your money. STi seats are neither visually attractive or physically supportive. They blow ass.
