Sidemakers suppose to blink?

Sup guys, just got the 04 TL today, but i got a quick question. Are the sidemarkers suppose to blink when u give the indicator?? Mine dont...but they turn on when u turn the lights on. They also blink when u lock the car with the remote, but they dont work when u give the indicator....should i bring it back to the dealer or what?

I agree, they would be even more useful if they blinked when you used the signal but they don't.

Any idea what Acura was thinking? How easy is it to modify this?

Thx!

That may seriously be the biggest, yet easiest to have avoided, mistake with the design of the car.

There have been posts on this before. Do a search. The main issue was that the vehicle sticker on the 1st TLs said there was signal mirrors but the sticker was in error. Probably something that was planned but did not make it out in time. I think will probably on next year's models.

That feature is a good candidate for differentiating '04 and '05, so why not saving it for the model next year? They should have added a rearshade as well.

Just an observation...most cars I've seen that have side markers that blink do not operate as parking lights. Seems like the side markers function as one or the other.

Acura goofed on this one big time! If it was no problem for them to put turn signal indicators in the sideview mirrors on the new TSX right from the start, they sure as hell could have done it here. In today's world of minivans and SUV's, those side mirror turn signals are frequently the only way one of those right in front of you would know you're about to turn.

It's not a big deal, guys, why worry about such a minor thing. I'm simply happy with the looks of the light when it's lit. The mods for it will come. The car is fun to drive, and at the end of the day that's the most important thing.
