Repair advice needed

Just brought my car in for an oil change, and they told me the coolant passage front seal is leaking, and quoted me $260 for parts and labor. i took it to a local place where my mom brings her car and we know the manager, and although he doesn't deal with acura, he opened it up and said he doesn't think they are burning me. there was also coolant all over the place.

i already made the appointment to have it fixed this coming week, but any thoughts?

This is the 04 TL forum, I am assuming u don't ahve an 04. If u do just take it in and they will take care of it under warranty. Otherwise options are local dealer or local mechanic. Take your pic. U know somebody honest that does good work- go for it

get a 3rd opinion

Your honest independent mechanic verified the same problem as the dealer. Take your pick as moreace said or go with the less expensive. Hondas and Acuras are pretty universal (both independent mechanics in town easily work on ours, and for less $) so I would use your mom's mechanic if he can fix it. If not, stick with your dealer. I assume this is not a '04 TL too, that is probably why many looks/no posts from this forum. No worries.

This should be covered under warranty for a brand new car.
