I have V3 amber front and V3 red rear with no problems. Did the flasher mod so I don't have to use the V3 load resisters. Everything works great. The switchbacks never appealed to me so I never bothered with them.
No other way to say it other than the whole V3 with me has been pretty uneventful.

I'll be yanking my bulbs tomorrow and sending them out Monday.
I was told they would be replaced with the new ones like AZP just received.

Hummm, even though im having no issues with my V3's I wonder if there is anyway I could get the Gen2 units for discounted price or a swap. Im always about the latest and greatest, and they said the new ones are a tad brighter :-D

haha i thought about this also but my switchbacks have so many zip ties and stuff around them i don't even want to mess with them. until they have issues i'm just going to leave them!

I had a nightmare trying to install my 10 XB led versions. I had to drop my bumper and remove my headlights just to install those suckers. I hope you don't have the same problem I did! I don't know what the cause of it was, but I was able to install the 6XB versions with no problems. As a matter of fact I was late for something and was rushing when I installed the 6XB LEDs.

Just read through all 8 pages and I think I will pull the trigger on these V3s for the front (only amber) and the V3s rear in red.
A couple things I want to make sure of first: Right now I have the .24 ohm resistor installed with tower LEDs in the front and regular filament bulbs in the rear. I know its weird but I had some weird ass problems with these LEDs and/or flasher mod since the start. I won't get into the details here cuz they are useless since I want to redo it all and run the setup I stated above^
That said, I will purchase a new relay and install it upon installing the new V3s. What exactly do I have to purchase in order to have these things working 100 percent stock? I'm just looking for clarification. I think I read in here that if you run V3 amber only in front and V3 in rear you only need 1 resistor on EACH side which can be mounted inline with the harness and socket close to the tail light. If that is correct which resistor am I supposed to purchase? Or is it the only one available on vLEDs website?
And are these things still on back order?
Thanks.

It sounds like you have a good plan with putting a new stock relay back in. I was never a fan of doing that. I know some people claim it to work ok, but I tried it on a previous TL of mine and my car started doing some F'ed up shit after that mod which I did 100% correctly. I will never touch that relay again...no thanks!
Ok so onto the V3's! You will absolutely LOVE them!! I am running the exact setup you say you want to get and couldnt be happier. The only thing that im not sure about now is that I bought the Gen1 versions and got them right when they came out, and I thought I kept hearing something about the Gen 2 units not needing the load resistor. I could be wrong so double check that first.
If however you do need to buy the load resistor get the V3 version and keep everything plug and play. Its sooo easy to install and there is a perfect spot near the tail lights for the box to go. When your installing the rears the best place to mount the V3 load resistor box to is a little metal "tray" directly above each rear taillight. I just used double sided tape and secured the box there. Works perfectly! The resr is basically self explanatory if you know how to remove and install sinple turn bulbs. And yes all you need is one load resistor box for each side. One above left tail light, and one above the right tail light. These will handle both front and rear LEDs.
To help you out this is a picture of my purchase order. Keep in mind I have a Type S so my front turn signals will be different part numbers if you have a base model, if you have a Type S what you see below is exactly what you need to buy. Now that I look at your posts again it appears you have a base model, so just make sure you buy the correct front bulbs. I believe the base model uses the same wedge type bulb that the rear has so you might just need 4 of the same bases.
Hope this helps.

So I guess for my base I will be ordering 7443 for the front amber and 7440 for the rear in red correct?
V3 TRITON GEN2 AMBER MULTI-APPLICATION HIGH POWER LED TURN SIGNAL LIGHT SYSTEM 7440 7443 1156 1157 3156 3157 | 1 PAIR B/O +$94.99
^ I copied and pasted this from vleds.com It seems that both amber and red show that they are compatible with all those bulb numbers. I wonder if during checkout you have to choose one.
It says that they are in stock right now but below that it says that they are available for preorder for the first week of may. Since we are on week 2 I would assume I would receive them pretty soon if I put the order through now right ?

I wonder if they are ever going to release a 921 socket size for the tritons. That way we can use them as reverse lights lol

Believe me, they are as equally bright in person as they are in the videos, if not more so. They are brighter than the stock bulbs easily, the red ones in particular are blindingly bright, especially at night, more so than the stock LED tails.

To everyone who has these, I need help! (Maybe I'm blonde) Just got my V3's in the mail and I've got all the wiring connected to the rear's and they work great, no hypter flashing.
My questions: Why is there 8 #3 screws and 8 #4 screws? What is the colar for? And HOW in the HELL do they fit inside the factory housing?!? Which washer(s) do I use? I have front and rear V3's.
Question # 2: Do I need the inverter/resisitor for the fronts if I use them for the rears? It said not to hook them out without the box they came with.
I have an 07 Type-S.
Please help ASAP as it's getting dark!

Received mine in the mail today and can't figure out how to get them securely fit.
I also don't understand if you aren't supposed to use the resistor in the front then how the hell do you connect the V3?
Someone help us! I'm waitin on someone to respond so I can install them

As far as the install: I YouTube'd a video and it makes a lot more sense now when I read the posts. So here's what you do.
FOR THE REAR: You DON'T use the collar. Insert two of the number 3 screws (the shorter ones) on opposite sides of each of the V3's (so you will only use 4 screws total for the rears). The screws will slide past the grooves/cut outs in the factory turn signal housing and will "lock" the V3 into place.
Slide a number 32 (I believe) gasket into the place. This will make the V3's fit snug and seal off the opening in the housing. Insert the V3 into the turn signal housing and rotate the V3 until it is all the way into the housing. Then (with some pressure) continue to turn the V3 clock wise until it's snug. Match up all the connectors and you're done
The fronts are the same only you DO use the collars. Install two number 4 screws (the longer ones) on opposite sides of the collar. The installation is exactly the same from that point.
The only question I have is package came with a white wire harness. I would guess it is a ground, even though ground wire is always black. Not sure what it's for but mine work flawless without it. It may also be the way to make the lights "dim" when using your headlights....?

As for the inverter/resistor (whatever the hell it is) I'm not sure how to wire them up without them. Our wiring configuration is different on the 2nd generation V3's.

And yeah about the wiring I have no idea. I'm not sure if I was supposed to order that cls module or whatever it is in order to only have 1 box (whichever box that is) on each side by the rear taillight.

I hate to sound like a broken record but can someone who has these as turn signals post a video of them blinking during the day from the side. Everyone's videos showcase the front, but that's where most of the light gets directed by the diffuser/reflector. Side view is important as well and I would like to see if they're worth it.

I dont have a video, but just keep in mind, the V3 is brighter in every aspect than the stock bulbs. However, the TL headlights arent designed to focus light out to the sides, so even with a bulb as bright as the V3 its not going to be blow your mind bright off to the sides. Regardless though, they outperform the stockers at all angles. The Triton V3s are without a doubt worth the price.

Yeah I meant the TL headlamps in general and more specifically the turn signal reflectors. So everything I stated still holds true but I am speaking of the turn signal lenses only. Thanks for clarifying.
