I just installed these, very straight forward. They're the Gen 1, used for only a week, that I picked up in the BM. I didn't bother with the wire to dim them with the headlights.

loving them, definitely brighter like everyone says

I have them and once again, they're fucking up. Done with these bulbs. They're fine in the trunk because they're completely out of the weather but the front ones are left out in the open in the fender wells.

My driver's side one is no longer lighting up white, it only signals amber.

i just installed mine and i believe the socket adapter is the culprit. It lights up white but will not blink amber on either control box, hyperflashes. Just wondering if anyone else had any issues with the socket adapters. For 5 bucks i just ordered news one to use and have one as a spare.

I haven't had a single problem with my gen 2 5k switchbacks for a 7443 socket. Had it for about 2 months now and has only been thru Texas 110 degree summer and quite a few thunderstorms.

Where do you guys have the control box mounted? I removed my headlights for the install and mounted the control box with 3 strips of 3m tape on the metal frame right underneath where the headlights go.

Perfect spot IMO

I forgot to mention I did apply a good amount of electrical tape over all connections including scotch locks for the 50% dim white wire

I might have to do that.

Mine are mounted high up in the fender with zip ties.

If mine ends up being a loose connection I'll try to get them working again, and if they do I'm taping them up. Hope that helps. Weather seems to be the killer here.

I zip tied the control module to the metal bar behind the headlights and also used electrical tape on all of the connections. i have the gen 1 and haven't had any issues.

i have mine zip tied to said metal bar^^^ but ill go in and look for a more permanent spot this weekend. Still running fine now after work. I dont really know what was different from before, I installed this morning and nothing worked with the base socket. It was getting close for me to head into work so i went to go grab lunch, I just left everything the way it was when it was hyperflashing. On the road it blinked like normal so im like ok thats weird. I checked it all when I got home and sure enough it was working how it all should.

Good to hear, I dont know what it was but still working normal. I just hope it was just a small error like a dirty connection or something.

Well after fiddling with mine yesterday, I got no solution. They won't light up white no matter what. (Driver's side).

So just this morning I placed an order for VLEDS 48 LED switchbacks and I'll be returning the Tritons. After failing on me twice, I'm not going through another set.

The Tritons have a lifetime warranty dude, you may want to give them one more shot. The gen 1 were a faulty design but you may have just had a bad set with the gen 2.

Yeah I know they do but honestly, 2 failures, I'd rather have my $100 back at this point.

There's better options for LED DRLs.

Tritons in white are 600 lumens and costs $100

1. These are 1,800 Lumens. 3x brighter than tritons and costs $100

http://www.vleds.com/bulb/9000-serie...b3-5k-cxa.html

2. These are 850 lumens and only cost $60

I don't know if something like this would work: http://www.vleds.com/5k-white-15-led...43-1-pair.html

So the first issue has developed on my V3's today. I was the first person to buy them on this forum when they first came out so I have had them for a decent amount of time. I have the Gen1's obviously NON-switchbacks. The left turn signal has started hyper flashing. All the LED's work, but simply hyper flash on the left side. Maybe something wrong with the load equalizer I guess? Anyone else have this issue?

Inside of the load equalizer box is just a light bulb... did yours come with extras? That bulb probably burned out. I'm sure they'd send you another one, lifetime warranty, right? No issues with mine yet.

I messed around with it a little and found the drivers side rear turn signal was not working. I opened up the trunk liner and found out its the VLED's connector going into the original bulb socket. I wiggled it and it started working again. So everything is all good it was just the connection. Its still a iffy connection there so im gonna take it out and maybe pry the leads out a little so they make better contact with the OEM bulb socket.

I was sitting at a light last night, turning left, behind one of those new GLK550 or whatever Mercedes. You know the big square box SUVs. It was jet black and the paint was mint. I had my turn signal on and so were my angel eyes. I was looking at them intently.

Now the halos look amazing. I won't even lie. I'm looking at it's clean clear and crisp white light and then my turn signal comes on, off, on, off, on. Now I left my diffusers in when I did my lights, so there is only so much I can expect out of it. But damn, the on/off isn't quick and when on next to the halos it looks dull in comparison.

Long story short I'm thinking about asking for these for Christmas. But man you all have so many problems! Does VLEDs have black friday deals?

yea we have DRL in Canada, it's a must. But my FX35 is also a US car. In that link you posted, those bulbs are 194 and I need 7443/7440. I emailed VLED guys and they said the bulbs in the link I posted aren't recommended to be on all the time like in DRL application.

So the Switchback Control Box and LED Bulb on my Passenger side decided to stop working all together. Troubleshooted by swapping the bulbs and nothing worked, put the working bulb back on the Driver side and it works perfectly. Contacted VLEDs, the warranty replacements will be here tomorrow.

I don't know about you guys but it seems there are a lot of problems for a multi $100 part. Not feeling too good about this. I guess I'll be staying with my LED towers and/or standard bulbs...

is there a big difference in the brightness of the amber blinker versus the tritons?

Huge difference but I could care less anymore.

If you want bright, the tritons will do it.

At night, the 48 LEDs do fine, it's only in harsh daytime it's harder to see them.

yeah that's what I figured, but after seeing the trouble y'all have had out of the tritons I'm very hesitant to spend $100 on them. sheesh, not sure what to do at this point.
