Received my VLED Triton V3 LED park and turn bulbs! A few pics inside!
Last month I received an email about VLED's new Triton V3 LED bulbs and I think we may FINALLY have a real plug and play LED bulb that will get the job done right. I ordered them as soon as they were available and these are for my 1157 front park/turn and rear 7440 turn bulbs. I just got them last night and even though I havent installed them yet I am super excited. The quality looks amazing! Unfortunately I wont be able to use them just yet as their new V3 plug and play load resistors are on back order so those did not come. For those that may recommend it, I will not be doing the turn signal relay resistor method as I have tried that on a previous TL that did not work and made my TL do all sorts of weird electrical things. Besides that the tabs on the relay broke just trying to get it out. So im not going to risk my newer TL by doing that mod.
I will go try the bulbs out today to see how they look.
Also, these bulbs were NOT cheap, but IMO if they are everything they have been talked up to be they will be well worth it. Im sick of all those different LED tower bulbs that claim to be insanely bright, but in daylight are barely noticeable, even with 9 million LED's soldered on it lol.
Here are a few pictures for starters:

Omg, in for daytime pics. My rear turn signals SUCK and I need something brighter. Any chance you could put them in to show off the brightness?

3 words.... OH MY GOD. FINALLY a aftermarket LED system that is amazing!! Guys, I just tried these in the rear turns and they are insane! I have tried countless brands and different types of tower LED bulbs and there isnt even a comparison to these. Remove whatever LED's you have in your car and buy these no questions asked. The entire kit front/back with V3 load resistors cost me $222 shipped, but after seeing the quality of these and the output I honestly would have paid $400 for these lol. I have not tried the fronts yet, but I can only imagine amazing those will look. For those of you who have switchbacks they have the Triton V3 switchbacks as well. Im so happy to have finally found an LED replacement that works!!!
Enjoy! Oh, and theres no point to tell you which is the V3 LED bulb and which is the stock filament bulb ;-)

How bright are they in broad daylight though, from a distance?

I dunno, haven't even pulled the car out of the garage yet. I can only imagine that they will still be plenty brighter. Reason being is unlike other aftermarket LED's, these new V3 bulbs have a lens that creates an output similar to how the filament is on a normal bulb and the height of it can even be adjusted to focus in your lamps housing. Basically, these are nothing like tower LED bulbs that have dim LED's aiming in all sorts of directions. These are very similar in design to OEM Sylvania/osram joule LED systems found in some vehicles.

Awesome, I didn't know you could focus them. Being that I have smoked tails I need something that will illuminate the entire turn signal housing. It looks like these fit the bill. I may have to order them...

Badass, I think I'm gonna need the switchback ones lol. They're only 3 watts too, I wonder if they'll make brighter ones lol. My 7 watt CREE bulbs on my last vehicle were insane, I have 5 watt cheapies for reverse now and they suck.

in for daytime turn signal pictures. I'd love to see how they look from the side at night and during the day. I have my reflectors painted black and clear diffusers smoked out a bit. LED turn signals look perfect for me head on during the day but lack from the side. You can see the individual SMD LEDs, but I'd rather have the whole housing compartment light up. I know that part of the reason it doesn't light up or reflect properly is because the reflector is painted but if I can get a stronger bulb to make up for it, that'd be awesome.

I'll give you a hint.....They're called V3 Tritons and they're sold by V-Leds.com

those bulbs looks amazing, the sleek design is really nice compared to the other led switch back i got that fell into my headlight twice while trying to put it in. the price just holds me back $100, price of an hid kit. keep us update on how it performs.
Hey JTS97Z28, I seen the video they post up on the site and at the end of the bulb where the wire comes out. you can adjust the bulbs to extend it, as wondering have you tried it and did it make a huge difference of brightness.

Although it can and will affect brightness to a certain degree, that's not the main purpose so I don't think it will be HUGE, but should be descent nonetheless. Ever notice how when you adjust the end of a flashlight the beam pattern changes? That's because the reflection or light coming off the bulb is being aimed in a different direction (between wide and narrow). That's how these work. You have to adjust it to get it to reflect off your housing how ever you prefer it. I know it's not really the answer to whether it makes a difference in brightness but I wanted to post this also for others to see as well.

Awesome, glad to see some of you guys will be taking advantage of them. Like I said quality appears to be excellent and fitment is perfect. They are one size fits all and are 100% plug and play just specify the bulb adapter you need when purchasing. For the Type S its 1157 front and 7440 rear. I believe the base models use the 1157 in front as well so be sure to check before ordering. When I test fit the Triton LED into the housing it fit very snugly. I adjusted the LED length so that it was set exactly where the filament of the standard bulb would be in the housing.
For the person that asked, no I do not have comparison shots next to other LED bulbs as I just gave up on everything else a long time ago. Not only did the tower LED's look sooooo dim in direct sunlight, I think seeing 60+ LED's mounted on a round base in the housing just looked kind of cheap.
The brightest LED I have tried until now was the VLED's 92 smt towers, and even those looked horrible in daylight and were ridiculously huge with so many LED's mounted on it lol.
A tip for those that have ordered them. There are instructions which show how to set them up correctly for different sockets, but for the TL you will only use 2 set screws (atleast for the rear turns, haven't tried mounting the fronts yet). Just put the two set screws on opposite sides of each other and leave the other holes empty. Then put the rubber washer/gasket in place and your done. The bulb fits very nicely and snug. Also, DO NOT look at the LED lens diffuser when its on. I made the mistake of glancing at it a couple times without it in the housing and it literally gave me a headache it was so bright.

I will definitely get you guys more pics when everything is installed. Im just waiting for the back ordered V3 load resistors and I don't know when they will come. Until then I cant leave them installed because of the hyper flash.
Yes you can change the overall length of the LED unit so that it sits further in or out in the housing exactly like LockDots explained. I didn't mess with it much, I just set it so it was the same length as the filament bulb and let it be. It was so bright it I don't think it matters where its located in the housing :-)

Very cool. I figured it was only a matter of time before LED technology progressed to the point where legitimate drop in incandescent replacements (not the cheesy SMD tower crap that's been around for the past few years) were possible. It looks like it's finally here, at least for signalling applications that is.
I'm definitely interested in more pics.

The whole setup looks really great! I was debating on whether I should get the platinum series VLEDs or the Triton V3's, but the pictures speak for themselves.
I was going to stick with the relay mod, but after hearing your experience, perhaps I should also invest in their ballasts...but then I'll need to find a proper mounting place and do so much more prep work.
For the 2004-2006 models, the front turn signal will be 7443.

In for progression and more pictures. I hate the fact I can't run rear LED's due to electrical problems in the front. Even with relay resistor mod.
And its his 5th TL because it took him that long to get the right color finally.

Also, the new V3 load resistors are 100% plug and play you do not have to splice or tap into a single wire. They just plug inline with the connectors you see in my pictures above. Completely reversible, and take 2 seconds to install. And even better is one load resistor will take care of both the front and rear lights. So one per side, just make sure you buy the one that handles 2 LED units. Also, install them in the rear by the tail lights. There is plenty of room and perfect places to mount them. So this method is actually easier than the relay mod and there are no risks or other possible drawbacks (well except they aren't free).

Eff... just bought some LEDs from autolumination last month, ran me $100 after shipping. They seem plenty bright but I'm always in for brighter.
I want these too...

Hey OP want to do me a favor?
These V3 claim 300 something lumens, I sell LEDS and recently got a new shipment of 25W CREE LEDS (5 CREE bulbs on one bulb all around). One 25W bulb claims 500 something lumens, these are 50% the price of V3 I wanted to see the difference.
I am not going to buy these V3 anytime soon because I cannot justify paying $100, maybe $50 at most anyway, I am willing to send you a pair of 25W cree and can you do a comparison for me? You can keep the bulbs.

As stated, you will still need resistors. The power dissipation is not a factor for the car in determining whether or not a light is out. Instead, it's the resistance across the + and - bulb leads in the wiring.

This is amazing, considering that everything is reversible! Since the TL has a bi-xenon setup, installing these for DRLs would be great, but what about other cars' DRLs that are dual-use (function as a high beam as well)? For instance, TSX/MDX.
#38
Engineer in Training
My guess is that they wouldn't work too well. Usually DRL that also function as high beams are a regular bulb at half the voltage. LED's don't like fluctuating voltage very much. But there's only one way to find out!

These don't fit a fog or headlight anyway. As far as their figment options are, it looks like all turn signals to me.
