Looking at 2005 TL
I've been looking at a 2005 tl with 109000 miles, after reading a little about these cars I've came to realize that more then likely needs a timing belt. I haven't purchased yet, so id there anyway to tell if this service has been done yet? I'm purchasing from a dealer and I know they haven't did it to the car. If I get the car inspected at lets say the Honda dealership before purchasing would they be able to tell me if this has been done?
You seem to ask if they have done it then say you know they haven't done it? A little confused, I would think since its a Honda dealership they would know if it has been done yet or not..
Edit: I would definitely ask the dealer and maybe even look at the cars maintenance records to see

This car was is a fresh trade on a non Acura Honda dealership, its technically a Chevy dealership, when they get cars in that are older (2005) and over 100k miles they put in a row called back bargains, they inspect the car to make sure everything works such as a/c, breaks, fluids and just make sure everything is up to pair to sell but they sell them no warranty and they are firm on the price and won't move on the price. The price is fair $8900 about $1500 under book valve, but they state when buying this car they will not pre or post fix anything to adjust the price. They ran a carfsx and everything looked great on that.
The reason why I asked about having Honda look inspect it before I bought it is because there right next door so if the dealership that I'm buying it from hasn't did it would Honda be able to tell just by a pre inspection
If the car was serviced at an Acura dealer or Honda dealer, running the VIN might pull up service records, including a timing belt service, for the car.
Otherwise, the timing belt servlce can run between $800 and $2000 depending on who does the work and the parts changed. A valve adjust and new spark plugs would cost an additional $400. The 3G TL section would have more info on other potential costs-- brake fluid changes every 3 years, change of auto trans fluid every 30 to 60K miles, etc.
