XM Signal Dropping Out More Frequently
My car is a 2005 Aucra TL with Navi.
Lately my XM signal seems to drop out more frequently. There have always been spots on my commute where I temporarily lose signal, but it seems like there are more of them lately. Could this be a symptom of an antenna problem? Is there a replacement antenna that is "stronger?"

I just had the XM receiver in my daughter's 09 Accord replaced. There is a TSB for XM receivers that cut out and come back to display the artist / channel etc, but no sound. If you cycle the ignition the sound works. Not sure if you fall into those symptoms or not. Also not sure if you car / vin fall into the specified range. Off the top of my head the TSB is 10-024 (if memory serves).

Print out a copy of that TSB and/or search to see if there is a similar one for your Acura and call and talk to your dealer to see what they say. What you are describing is similar but different than what is covered in the TSB, but they might be able to provide some empirical data - "yeah, we see that all the time" or "nope, that's a new one." Guessing you are out of warranty unless you have an very long extended warranty still in place, but you may wind up tackling this on your own, if it's that bothersome for you. I would much rather be able to hear the music and not see the music info than vice versa. Let us know how you make out.

Always worth a shot..................
I don't know what the XM receiver cost as it was all done under warranty, but it did fix the issue in my daughter's car. As an FYI, I had to call XM to get the new radio ID switched over. Apparently each receiver has it's own unique ID and it has nothing to do with the car or the radio head unit. XM was going to charge me $15.00 to do this and I refused, but the CSR got an okay from her supervisor to waive the fee after I pointed out it was a defective XM part.

It's easy to get XM to waive fees haha. I am not even sure who is paying for mine right now. It's not on my account but it keeps working.
If its the receiver is the problem I will probably just leave it till it breaks then do the fix the info isn't that big of a deal and it works 75% of the time.
