Front Amp'd Emblem for Acura
Hey THTL,
Thanks for the interest. Currently, they are only for the rear emblems. However, there has been a lot of interest in the front ones as well. We will add the front ACURA emblem to our list of product development/testing schedule. (currently working on the Lexus) As soon as some progress is made, we will announce it on our facebook fan page (a link available from the website www.ampdemblems.com).
Thanks!

Hey guys, I just installed mine today. As I have said before, excellent service, fast shipping, Ampd is awesome and has touched base with me about everything. The product is smartly designed and packaged.
First off I want to say this mod may not give the effect you are thinking in your head. It isn't loud and blingy. It is very subtle. I've taken a chance on a number of mods and I will say that this is another one of my mods that I'll credit to my better judgment.
Once people see it at meets I know they'll want one too. Just as I predicted before, it is true; the pics do it no justice. I got white and IMO it is PERFECT!! (Perhaps if you got different colors the effect is different.) The light is indirect and as rockstar said you are hard pressed to really notice it. It looks tasteful. The light looks different at different angles and reflects off the chrome of the emblem itself. You WDP guys have to get in on this because any color would look good on your car and also the light will probably halo better. Darker colors won't really have that effect and the light will mostly reflect off the chrome.
It was a super easy install. I've taken my trunk liner off many times and I have the CCFL license plate lights already tapped in. (Just noticed one of the bars is not lit
) It is a perfect match with the CCFL lights so this completes the look. Everything throws a nice clean white light. I don't think the install should take anyone more than 1 hour. The only thing that took a lil time for me is taking the old emblem off. It took a lil bit of time with dental floss, perhaps fishing line is better but I didn't have any.
Now I know what you will say now. Pics, pics, pics. Yeah I will get to it soon. Not too much different than what you've already seen but at least you will see what it looks like with white on anthracite.

Hey Rocky,
Thanks for the kind words. I'm very glad you like it and it turned out better than you had hoped. Very thorough post regarding the product and the install!
I have done a few installs and if I may pass on one trick...it's no secret...but it works. Use a hair dryer on the old emblem. Heat it on high for about 2 minutes....until it is hot to the touch. Slide the fishing line behind it....(I'm going to include the fishing line from now on)..and it will pull right off. I have tried twice without it...and its just as Rocky described. Heat it...and it comes right off.
I hope that helps some.
Again, Rocky, thanks for an awesome post. Can't wait to see your pictures.
Thanks,
Ampd

Glad you shared similar sentiments Rocky! Feel free to tag onto the DIY link if you like. Maybe if enough people add to that they'll just add it to the 3G garage and this mod will be forever immortalized in the banals of AZ history...lol.
Or here, obviously, but just letting you know I don't mind. About the emblem removal...ESPECIALLY if you live anywhere where it's cold right now...that double sided adhesive will be like a ROCK if you don't do the hairdryer. Even in summer in the sun for me it was tough and the floss kept breaking. Steve, including fishing line will really be above and beyond but I'm sure appreciated!
Take care,
J.

^^^ Thanks Dan. I don't know why I was on the fence about this purchase. I think I just wanted to insure it looked classy. But your pictures did it for me!
Well done, young squire!
Well done, young squire!
I will be working into the night to try to finish yours tonight. I have about 8, 3g TL emblems on hand. One order before yours. Will let you know when it ships Steve.
Thanks guys for all the kind words!

PS. Great licence plate Dan
Just another tip Steven. You don't have to clamp anything on the harness. Just use a blue spade conector, trim the spade and just plug them into the back of the licence plate light socket. They hold in nice and I wrapped a piece of electrical tape to make sure it didn't come out. If It does ever pull out no harm no foul.Bottom line is I will never tap into any factory harness. This worked for me.
No doubt you have a good thing going. Can't tell you how many compliments I have got. ty about the plate, ya know I am happy to get that one lol
