ehhh the Viper GTS comes on as a third brake light. As long as it doesnt get that much attention I think it might be fine. But either way I wouldn't do it.

I wouldn't worry about a ticket. If you have any doubt, check out the newest generation Prius, and the Hybrid Lexus. They both have a blue backlight appearance of some sort. I also heard you can get a ticket for speeding......

Pontiac did this with the Sunfire. The name was on the brake lights and would light up when someone came to a stop. This connection alone would never ever make me entertain the thought.

But if it makes you happy, go for it

A few years back there was a BMW one that lights up indiglo blue.....But I don't think it would look right on a TL.......maybe a backlit one with white LEDs like the one cisco put up.........Hmmmm.

But I wouldn't make the effort, it's not me.

I just saw the video now. Hmm apparently someone HAS done this on the TL, interesting. Drilling would be required I'm sure.

The installation FAQ says no drilling if the emblem has a pin to hold it on the car. They probably cut the pin off and use that hole. Looks like you can send them your emblem for conversion, too.

The other thing that strikes me is the hate in this thread. Rocky said himself in another thread that a lot of mods require vision, planning and execution to be pulled off really well. I think this mod can be tastefully done and look more nice than rice, but maybe that's just me. Won't know until I see it done right.
Thanks for the link cisco.
OP, please post pics if you follow through with this.

Care to elaborate on how you can get a ticket for this!! To my knowledge there is no valid reason to get a ticket for this. And I'm in NYC where cops give out tickets like they're coupons to a supermarket.

I don't think that's too bad. If they showed it in other colors besides that orange color and blue color on the site. Also that $94 charge is a bit steep but if you're doing you car up for shows then hell might as well go for it. I had the backlit type emblem on my 90 teg back in the day. The funny thing is that some people here will say it ugly but then again they probably had chrome wire loom all over the cars in the past and thought that crap was hot back then. when I go to HIN and I see these morons with 10lbs. of that crap under their hoods I laugh right at them to their face.

I looked at the pics on the website and it does seem more appealing now. I was wondering if the mod is worth it. The fact that you can buy it readymade for $100 and install it without drilling makes more sense now. Kinda thinking twice now, hmmm........

But I mis-spoke by saying "It's not me"..... LED mods are definitely "me". The mod itself doesn't look bad. What I meant to convey is that in combination with so many other mods I already have I think my car would be overdone. It looks just right now. By adding this and that here and owner might not realize when he approaches the limit of too much. It's the reason I haven't done the turn signal mirrors or the door handle LEDs.

I was in Manhattan yesterday and I saw a Dodge Charger that had LEDs EVERWHERE!! Including the emblems. Lol, it looked like a ridiclous clown car.

A lot of people have shaved their emblems and I don't remember anyone having to fill in an alignment hole. Maybe someone who knows what's under the emblem can chime in. I'd like to know if drilling is required. (ya sue me.....I am slowly changing my mind about this mod. lol!)

PM conversation I had with mmade22:

Re: Question about rear emblem...

Now my question. The rear "A" emblem---does it have pins to align it in place on the trunk?

Thanks man. Yeah, my car is hitting the shop on Monday. The car hit at less than 5mph with the damage it had so it's all good.

The emblem is held on by two plastic pins that need to be pressed out from the back. The outer circle parts has a double sided tape. You want to heat the emblem up all around with a blowdryer. Have the trunk liner pulled back and you will see the two white plastic polls. Push on them with a screwdriver and make sure the tape is warm so it comes off the trunk. It will come right off.

Good luck man and thanks for the kind words!

So there are already holes in the trunk.

I liked light up emblems in the front and not the rear. Different colors could get you pulled over, so it's better to stick to something white.

lol Rafee....

Yeah I imagine the blue or green could get you pulled over by a ticket happy cop. Not that you couldn't get it dropped in court anyways but they'll try. Cops know most people don't bother to take a day off from work and lose money to fight a ticket.

White or red would be fine, they can't say anything about that.

Hey Rockyfeller,

Your TL has alignment pins. It is an easy install. 1 hour max. Thanks for your interest. You will never make everyone happy. If you like something go for it. Lead, don't follow.

I just installed a blue Amp'd Emblem on a 2005 Silver TL. (He loves it) There is a blue Amp'd Emblem on my 2007 blue TL, and a red Amp'd Emblem on someones 2008 Silver S type. All of the reflective paint colors like silver...and metallic ones, look very good.

If you think the price is too high, become a facebook fan, and I will give you $20.00 off.

As far as tickets go.....yes....drive by a cop...show him a gun..or a beer in your hand...and I'm sure you will get pulled over. As far as the emblem itself? Please. They are subtle. These people that are worried about tickets probably worry about getting hit by things falling off of planes.

If you have any questions. Feel free to email me directly at ampdemblems@aol.com.

Home that helps. Good luck either way.

Hey Andruha88,

Not a bad idea. Right now, if you become a fan of Amp'd Emblems TM on facebook, and send an email to ampdemblems@aol.com, I will give you a coupon code to use at checkout for $20.00 off. A good deal.

Here is my offer. Get me an order for at least 10 Amp'd Emblems. I will give you a coupon code for $25.00 off for each one. With shipping, that would be $77.19 each. (if you live in FL.....sales tax will be added) It will have to be one order and one payment. That person could then email me a list of addresses to send them out to.

See what you can do.

Thanks,

Ampd

Need to post a HOT 3rd Gen. TL picture.

Hey guys,

I want to replace my Vette picture on my site www.ampdemblems.com with a hot looking 3rd gen TL. (preferably with an Amp'd Emblem on it) If you would like your picture on my site, send me one to ampdemblems@aol.com. I will get some input and choose one.

Format should be jpg or jpeg and should not be a file size greater than about 50kb.

Thanks,

Ampd

PS. The total for the above group sale post would be $77.76 each with a discount of $24.95 each.
