Question Extended Warrenty

Like others who have written on this subject, I believe the TL's highly sophisticated computer/electronics (particularly with the nav) makes an extended warrenty a pretty good idea, especially for those of us who plan on keeping the car beyond four years.

I intend to negotiate for one when I pick up my new TL. How much are people paying for the extended warrenty? I know there are many types, but I am referring to the 7 year/100k bumper to bumper version from Honda (as opposed to a shady third party warrenty).

I'd love to know how much I should expect to pay. Thanks in advance.

I'm planning on adding it to mine as well. You have until 12,000 miles to add it, and its refundable if you don't use it.

Mission Viejo Acura had it offered for $1060...that's the best deal I've seen, and thats with a good company recognized by any dealer.

You mean it's not a Honda warrenty?

I have been watching this for a while. The best prices that I have seen on the different forums is $860-$900 for 7/100,000 with $100 deductible and the $1120 listed above for 7/100,000 with no deductible.

Having the choice of those two I think I would go for the “no deductible”.

Please tell us where this deal is available. And the one I mentioned was the Acura Car Warranty for $1060 with $50 deductible 7/100,000

follow up on pricing and coverage

Hi accuraddict and others,
I got the Acura care extended warranty with 7/100K and $0 Deduct. as I stated earlier in this thread. I bought it through my selling dealer at the same time of my purchase. I am not sure if they will sell it at that price as a separate purchase. You can try by calling Kathy Lee (finance mgr.) and tell her I referred you. This warranty is backed by Acura the same as the original bumper to bumper 4/50K provides. Provides for a rental car vs. a loaner car and is valid at any Acura dealer and others in emergency.
Good luck everyone. By the way, I LOVE my car. Probably the most amaizing car I have had the privilage to own. I will be posting pics soon of my interior with the wood inserts vs. the black carbon it comes with. A huge difference.

Extended Warranty

I'm expecting to pick up my car within a few days. The best deal I could get on the extended warranty was $1400 for 7 yr/100,000miles. When I said it sounded expensive, the dealer stressed it was because it was straight from Acura and not some other company that might not sticka round. Any comments?

You can get a 7/100 $0 deduct. for $1125 after the $90 "rebate". You do not have to purchase the extended warranty from the selling dealership.

Just make sure it is a "Acura" warranty and not a third party company because a lot of those have gone belly up.

Extended Warranty

gbriank: Thank you for the link. I have written asking for more information (I'm in MA, will it make any difference they're in another state, etc.?) It certainly is a MUCH better price than the one I was quoted from the dealer!

Vothsc: It is a genuine Acura warranty sold by an Acura dealer.

Starbie: No it will not make a difference that the dealer is in another state. Acura Care warranty is honored in all 50 states.

Be careful and read the fine print.

If you sell the car via "private party" then you must pay $50 to transfer the extended warranty to the new owner.

If you sell (trade in) the car to a dealer then the warranty is NOT transferrable. Not to the dealer, and not to the person the dealer sells it to. Your car will not be worth even one penny more (to the dealer) than if you didn't have the warranty.
