Question Hide the Clock on the top LED Screen...??

Is there a way to hide the clock on the LED screen on top? I figured there would be....why else would there be a "What time is it?" voice command for the navi....

Who would ask "what time is it?" if they are looking right at the clock?....

The same people that would say "Fan speed 5" when all they have to do is click the button.

File it under the geewiz folder.

No hide option to my knowledge.

Actually, I've found that saying "Play Disc 1, track 23" is a lot easier than pressing the next-track button 23 times.

How about XM Radio? You're on Channel 8 and you want to go to 82. Either play wheel of fortune with your dials or use the voice commands I suppose...

I like 81 better than 82.

My youngest daughter, age 5, almost got mad, until she finally got the Nav to say the time when she asked it to.

Free hint for those with cranky kids. Tune to XM station 103-Audio Visions (New Age). Konks the kids right out.

The duplication IS a little silly. You can push the button on the steering wheel and issue a voice command that says: "Radio on," or you can just push the radio button on, which is actually much faster and requires one less step. (???)

I actually like listening to that channel to go to sleep (XM boombox radio in house).

However, depending on what kind of dricing you are doing, sometimes you don't want to let your hands leave the wheel.

I second MikeRadio

When driving, and dare I say driving "spiritedly".. that's when the voice comes in handy. I use it to put the Climate on Recirc... not that there's any stanky trucks or cars in Georgia.

And Play Disk 4 Track 6 is WAY easier as was mentioned.

Here's a question for ya.. not using voice.. in dual climate mode, how do you adjust the fan for the passenger ??

I don't think it is. I found out that I tend to NEVER use the buttons and I almost ALWAYS use the voice commands instead.

1. There is only one button that I have to push to accomplish anything at any time.

2. The "voice" button is on the steering wheel, so I don't have to search for it.

3. Finding the wanted specific CD track or particular XM channel is oh so much easier by speaking the number that I want rather than pushing the "skip track" button 16 times or rolling the "wheel of fortune" through the 150 XM channels (the same for the FM frequency).

3. I hate the location of the climate control "recirculate" button :banghead: It is one of the functions that I use the most, as I have to drive close to the bay one the way to/from work, and there is one particular spot close to the marsh lands that I prefer to go through with the cabin air intake closed. However, the "recirculate" button is hidden in the farthest, most hideous location possible and I can never find it quickly enough before I pass out because of the smell :yack: For me clicking the "voice" button and saying, "climate control recirculate" fixes the problem and I don't need to look for the damn hidden button on the dash.

Did anyone figure out how to push buttons to adjust the fan speed for the passenger when in dual mode ?

I know you can do it with voice, "fan speed" for driver and "passenger fan speed" for the other, but how to push buttons ??

I thought that you can not adjust the fan speed in dual mode.. just the temperature (normal on most cars for dual mode) and an added bonus, the MODE (where air comes out of).

I wish you could adjust the fan but even on the top indicator bar there is only one fan indicator.

There is only one fan motor behind the dashboard. That's the reason you cannot have dual fan speed. It's the stupid design, the real dual mode should advance to dual fan speed, too.

I agree... Lots of times the passenger complains they do not want air "blowing in their face".... but at least you can mode it someplace else!

You know, it's hard to be familiar with all commands. But, I kind of like this one. Should try.

I didn't even know this one existed, but I just tried it and it works.

It needs to be customizable. Imagine impressing your buds at work with "Find nearest strip joint."

AT one time my NAVI actually said words I think I remmeber like McDinalds or something like that.

I also remmeber it reading an address like word for word.

Where does it do this.. how do you get this to happen? I got it to do it somehow when I was messing with it when I first got it.
