emissions warning light question

Hey guys, I just picked up my 04 PWP TL this weekend. So far I love it!! Coming from Corvettes, I have to say this is a GREAT car. It is also my first Japanese car. I also have had BMW 3 series and this thing comes really close to that "BMW" feel...

Anyway, I might actually have a small problem. I got in the TL after work today started to drive off and it hesitated a little bit and the "emissions warning" light flickered but didn't stay on? Any hesitation like that scares me because I immediately thing the worse -- "transmission". I'm still getting used to the car and being light on the pedal and sometimes 1st to 2nd feels a little rough... Should I be worried?

It just so happens that it is going to the dealer tomorrow for oil change and general "I just bought this so check it out" kinda of service. I sure do hope it's nothing bad...

also, I have heard that an O2 sensor or something similar can cause some weird shifting. Is this true?

Wheeew....

just got the car back from the dealer, they said everything checked out beautifully. They said the hesitation was from a misfire and no big deal.

misfire is usually coil pack or bad plug- it is a big deal on a computer controlled car

at 70k I would be replacing the spark plugs and doing a full can seafoam treatment to intake vac line and gas tank- that cures many problems

Well, I took it in for an oil change and 4 wheel alignment, I think they hooked it up to the machine for free. I would imagine, but not for certain, that if you just took it in for a code reading they would charge you. Your best bet is to just give them a call and see what they will work out for you.
