Customizing not available until linked to remote
Hi Guys! This MID message has me stumped and I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have to fix it.
Car is an '07 TL-S 5AT with 120K and in otherwise excellent condition.
My problem is when I scroll to Keyless Memory Settings, I get this message on the MID: CUSTOMIZING NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL LINKED TO REMOTE
When I bought the car last year, it came with one key.
I never noticed the "Welcome Driver 1" or played with the Keyless Memory Settings during the test drive.
The used car dealer/seller had a second key made for me, but I didn't test it. Later I discovered it turned the ignition but didn't start the car.
So I took it to local Acura dealership to have the keys programmed, learned 2nd key would not function due to wrong chip, ordered factory key and had it programmed, but it didn't solve the problem. They tell me they'd have to play around with it to figure it out, if they even can.
Neither of my keys register as Driver 1 or 2.
I tried the "hold down lock & unlock on remote" trick and I get the two flashes on the remote, but still not linking.
Both keys start and run the car, and I get the dashboard "immobilzer key" 5 flashes when I turn off the ignition.
All the other functions work perfectly.
Anybody ever encounter this or have any helpful ideas?
TIA

That must be infuriating, sorry.
try this (post 3) https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2...2/#post8715763
from the brief reading, it seems it was easy to program the remote. Some recommended buying a remote off eBay instead of the stealership too
In the meantime, doesn’t the car hold the seat and mirror settings until it detects a new owner, in which case it then resorts to that stores setting? Basically having manual seats lol, but they stay the same

I'll try that process in the morning and report back...
Welp, I went through the remote process, which worked for the remotes unlocking doors, etc, but there was no change to allow setting change or recognizing Driver 1, 2...so back to the drawing board.
There's nothing in the Owners Manual or the Service Manual that I can find to address the annoying issue.
Any other ideas short of disconnecting the battery, running around the car clockwise three times, hooking up the battery and running backwards around the car counter-clockwise three times??

+1 bump
Any solution to this? I'm in the same boat as Pair of TLs, except one key shows up as Driver 2 and is customizable, but the second key brings the exact same error.
I think the dealers lost the knowledge on how to actually link the remotes to these cars, and those who did know retired.
