Remote Key #2 Doesn't Restore the Memory Settings #2
Remote Key #2 Doesn't Restore the Memory Settings #2
Hello,
I just recently bought 2002 Type S, and both remotes did not work.
Thanks to this forum, I found the algorithm for reprogramming them here, and all worked as described. Now both remotes open and close the doors and trunk.
However, only the remote #1 can restore the memory settings #1 when you use it to unlock the car. The remote #2 doesn't do the same for memory settings #2. It just opens the door(s).
Using the buttons on the door, both settings #1 and #2 can be restored - it is just about the remote.
Did anybody have the same problem?
Is there a way to solve it - for free?
Thanks a lot in advance.

It sounds like the key fob is simply not linked with the memory settings.
Press lock and unlock at the same time, and hold until the LED blinks to confirm the link.
The instructions are on the back side of the key fob.
