I would like to get some type of chrome mesh grill for my 04 tl. Any suggestions?

Not much in custom grills for the TL.

 

^ Agreed..most custom jobs are truly one-off creations. Most tend to just paint it the body color or just part of it body color or black. I do remember seeing someone who cut off the center bar and then worked his magic to fill in the holes and remold it to just contain the outside portion. And I think he added in some mesh or something. I think there is an ebay site that sells a plastic version or this exact mod (the center bar delete) but there are not too many sporting it, and if i remember correctly it will only fit the 04-06 model years.

 

Search for the grille thread by "mmade22" for the info blkaspec mentions.
Also note that the ebay grille requires modification to fit properly. Of course, if you have the cojones of mmade22, that really doesn't matter.
There are several other members sporting custom grilles, including me, but mine is just painted. I warned mmade22 I was going to copy him and have most of the required parts---I just have to grow my own cojones before I tackle it!!
Look around, pay attention to members' avatars, etc. You will see a LOT of creativity.

see bottom of page 12 ... guy used chrome looking mesh for upper and lower grilles.

 

 

oh, i also remember a few people tried wrapping the grill with sheets of vinyl, usually black. i think it worked out pretty well and because it isnt paint it wont chip...and if it does you are not out $$$ to have it repainted. just another thing to consider
