post your dipped grill

I'm thinking of dipping the beak/ plenum shield part of the grill but I don't want it to look like a moustache on the car lol. Anyone got pix to share of dipped grill ideas ?

I personally would paint it so it looks more OEM. Just my $.02. What year is your RDX?

Not dipped, but this is the vinyl wrapped grill of my TLX. I will be doing the same to my RDX. With the wrap, there is no need to remove the grill and in my experience, its more durable too.

I got my grill painted for my 2014 TL last week. Homie hook up was $20 for paint and clear. Also had another homie apply a clear bra to the center shield to protect the paint from rock chips. No charge. Cost me $20 total. Could of been free but I insisted on giving him something for the paint.

I still haven't installed it back on the TL yet so I could let the clear bra fully settle. Wife is debating on getting her 2016 shield painted now. Her's is WDP. If and when I get her's done. I'll post pictures in here and my build thread.

This would look much cleaner if the bottom trim was black as well. Still the wrapped grill definitely helped.

Yes you can dip, wrap or get the front shield painted. Just have to remove the grill from the vehicle and remove the shield from the grill.

If you’re posting from a mobile phone, you can upload pics from your device to the site to include in your posts ...if you’re really lucky. Seriously, this site has an absolute garbage UI from a mobile phone. It’s the main reason why I don’t post more pics.

Did realize I could do it through the site. I like the flat black on yours. I might change it up depending on if I do gloss or flat black wheels. Im gonna end up paint matching the chrome grille surround and chrome bar on the trunk and blacking out the window trim chrome

How do you do the beak wrapping? I assume it is done with a 3M film. Will it last? Any DIY videos or step-by-step guides available online? Thanks!

Here's mine. Six coats of matte black Plasti Dip and three coats of glossifier. Used Armor All for cleaning after the Plasti Dip cured. It also gets rid of the residual stickiness. I elected to remove the beak for spraying since it's pretty simple and eliminated all the masking.

Did you wrap it on the car or remove the grill? If you removed it how hard was it to get it off because i can't find any instructions online. Thanks in advance

Carbon fiber wrapped grill:

Hey guys,

I know old thread but just wanted to share.
here's my wrap!

I'll take more pics next time. I wanna add a finer aluminum grill behind the black Acura grill to prevent stone chips into the radiator.

Scratch resistant carbon fiber vinyl film.

2018 RDX A-Spec.

Carbon fiber wrapped front grill with HID blue headlight film.

Exactly what I am thinking of doing, want to also do the fog surrounds, lower lip rear trim as well. Curious what type of vinyl was used/ 3M, Avery or something else

Recently acquired a cherry 2014 RDX, but much like you guys absolutley hate the beak. I have purchased the matte carbon fiber wrap and getting ready to dive off into that project. I still cant believe no one is selling an after-market grill assembly for a now 6-7 yr old car

I loved your post so much, I decided to follow suit on my RDX. Thank you for the pictures and examples.
