Brake dust issues on 2007 TL S-Type

I have a 2007 TL S-Type and I can not believe how much brake dust is on the front wheels. Seems like i am cleaning the wheels every couple of days. I have never had a vehicle that has this much break dust build up. Anything i can do to help with this.

Change out the pads. Some ppl have good experiences with lower dust with EBC Greenstuffs. ROTORA H2 ceramic pads are also a lower dust pad.

Yes, the Type-S Brembo break pads create a lot of dust. Make sure you wax your rims so they are easier to clean.

that is a byproduct of high performance brakes....that is why they painted the type s wheels the color they did....

I also didn't like all of the dusting with my '04 manual. The stock pads shipped for the Brembo brakes are quite good, but they do dust a lot. So in the spring of '06, I installed Rotex Kevlar Gold pads and the dusting dropped about 85-90%. They are now slightly (very slightly) more dusty than the brakes on the automatic TL. You will loose a slight amount of stopping power, but if you don't race your car, you'll be fine.

Yeah, i have seen that the gunmetal colored rims hide the dust a little bit but i have recently just purchased the same rims that are chrome. So i have a feeling it is going to be even more of a pain. But will look extremely sharp when clean.

Just remember to keep them clean .. brake dust when exposed to moisture and left on the wheels can turn acidic and eat into the clear/chrome then your done.

Also NuFinish liquid is a very low $$ but excellent OTC sealant to use on wheels. Just apply a few layers each at least 24 hours apart.

It will help protect them a bit but there is no substitute for keeping them washed.

There is also specuality waxes out there that are more $$ but don't do any better job... just cost more.
