AV6 swap - won't shift from D5 to N
Hello everyone!
I just completed the swap and having a bunch of issues. The last thing I needed was a brake line to burst in the back of the car where I did not even touch!
I have a 2002 Acura TL and swapped in a 2007 AV6 with about 72,000kms on it. I adjusted the range sensor and shift linkage correctly to the best of my knowledge. I know the range sensor is good because I did it in 6 increments, now I know when it will work or will not work.
The AV6 cannot shift from D5 to N. It can from P to R, R to P and R to N. The front end is still in the air and I notice the speedo does drop when I shift from D5 to N, or increase in N back to D5, sometimes. But it never fully disengages.
This is beginning to be very frustrating. No codes.
Thanks if anyone can help!

Hmmm... I think it's normal. I do feel it disengage from D5 into N and the speedo does drop but when I step on the gas, it goes up again, but not as pronounced as in D5. Only one way to tell is fix my brake lines and drop the car for a test drive.
BTW, if anyone is curious, you can keep the range sensor from the AV6 for a rainy day. Just cut the connector off the TL sensor and hook it up to the AV6 range sensor. I just did that and concluded that the swap is probably okay now.

Update: I dropped the car and test drove it. No problems whatsoever with tranny.
I do have other problems... but it's not tranny related. haha
