Starter Issues with 05 RL

Hello,

Last year my alternator went out. So I changed it.
About 6 months ago the car would not start. So I changed the starter. Worked fine.
Now every once in a while it won't start and the warning says Check Starting System.

Any ideas where to look? Thanks

Have you had the battery checked? Are your connections tight? Have you checked how much juice the alternator is putting out? Take it to autozone or advance auto and have them run a test on alternator and battery.

Could be fuel delivery related.

How do you start the car? Put it on accessory, wait for fuel gauge to register, then start it. This gets the fuel pump primed and build fuel pressure. I had intermittent starting issues for two years and this has worked. Not sure what the problem is, though.

There's a few of us with this intermittent issue here. Have not seen a definite solution. My money is on the fuel pump, but I wouldn't go changing parts till it failed and I'm sure.

Thank you. I read your whole thread with this issue. I wrote down the starter relay as the possible problem. And then it happened to you again. You have no idea how disappointed I was when I saw the problem still persisted with you.

Anyways to answer your questions: The battery is only about 2 years old. It is 750 CCA so it is more than enough. The terminals are as tight as they can be. Ground terminal do not have any corrosion. Alternator is putting out close 15 volts. 14 and some change. I tested with a voltmeter.

I generally start the car with about 5 to 10 seconds in ACC II.
But this could be the issue since it is my wife's primary car. I will tell her to follow that advise, and then see what happens.

Thanks a lot.

Thank you.
I will have my wife follow what rlerman said. If it happens again I will be back here.
Thanks again
