I was playing around with Amazon Music a few days ago and found a bunch of old industrial music. So I fell back into 1993. Some of it has held up really well, and other has gotten even more cheese that it started.

Talking about music.. my Sony MDR-XB300's are crapping out.
The bridge where the cable splits got pulled (dick) accidentally when I moved my chair (got hungggggg up) and the connection is touchy (handsy if you will).
Brought my XB500's in. They're over the ear so it's not great for slinking over the head all day.. but damn they fucking hammer (only 40mm too). I treat them better than the caddy.
Went online to see if I can score another pair.. fucking $300-500 (beloved and discontinued, supply vs demand).
I bought these suckers on sale for $50 6-7 years ago. Anyways.. the XB300's and 500's are the best closed headphones ever for my listening. But don't want to run them into the ground.

I'm going to repair the 300's and put them on the shelf.. so I've been looking for another pair of everyday cans.
I was thinking of getting AT 50x or 40x. My brah has both, I prefer the 50x. Both good mids and bright highs and a little low end..
buttt... need amplification and EQ to make them great... and need new ear cups bc the stock ones are garbage..
Easy enough but I don't like fucking with headphones.. and even inline clip on amp is just more shit for me to fuck with.
Fuck that.. I'm spoiled.

So... bought some everyday cans.. Z blew these up.. I'll give my later this week. Should get here tomorrow.

Funny, Just upgraded to the Samsung S8 and the promotion they were running was $100 for the VR headset and mic, 256gb mini sd (that phone is capable of having that!) and these over the ear high end headphones (akg, but not the earbud ones they are including in the box...some high end ones) from harmon cardon...for $100

I was in a hifi shop in Seattle last year and they had my try some Audeze(nuts) headphones with this Chord Mojo DAc with some FLAC(calack) audio and it was pretty sick...



So damn expensive though. I have some Logitech UE Triplefi v10 IEM's that are my everyday carry's... I would love to have some Over Ear's but they're not exactly travel friendly so IEM's are the best paired with some Comply (just the) tips..

I have been eyeing the FiiO amps though as a carry around...

But like I said.. even though it's ultra portable and kickass.. I don't bother anymore. Most of my headphones do the bizz...

I need to get something for the desk too. I've been meaning to for a while. I've got some Grado SR80s at home because I'm cheap AF. But I can't wear them at work because the my music would make people uncomfortable with the open speaker design like that.

My phone likes to do that to me. I'll be streaming questionable content in the car on the way to work. Phone pauses when I turn off the ignition and when I sit down at the desk, I swipe to close the app and it's like "nah, we gonna go ahead and play this at full volume."

It's fantastic for calls.. good battery.. syncs easy.
Bulky but not more so than their wired counterparts.

I use BT for working out ( sure you do...) and while biking and such.. but when I'm listening on a plane or at my desk, I don't need BT. I'd prefer the wired connection to get the best bang.
