The 3G Ramblings & General Discussion Thread (Trois)
Horree fucking shit that guys is a fucking boss.. 6.8 resting G and 30 seconds pulling 8Gs like fucking nothing. Fucking A brah.. I think the average person experiences GLOC at 5Gs. This guy is feeling enough force to separate his spine yet he barely shows shit in the spin. Give this man a cookie and the fastest fighter jet you can muster. Fuck yeah!
This is my favorite.. the fucking indian guy saying he's losing it at 2Gs..
I don't think he's qualified to drive a car.

It even has a anti-G forcefield that keeps the occupants of the 2016 RDX concious all the way to 20Gs.

I drove one for a couple of days so I'm probably more qualified to have an opinion. It's a nice car.
Especially if properly modified.
JoeFofo, I'm talking on behalf of Kevin and his needs...my eyes are still on the Vrize. I'm either chilling with my 2 hos, or my future wife. Bettaknowthat.

Well that's a bullshit statement. ANY car can be nice IF properly modified. How about stock? You're not the only one who's driven the TLX, doe.

A 6MT is out of question. I'd be shocked if they brought it out again.
Either way, here, the entry level TLX STARTS at 37k and tops out at 50k. That's without any options, either. I'm sure loaded up, it can easily become a 56k car. I don't see 56k worth of value.
Maybe if the car was truly bulletproof reliable, or had a choice of transmissions, etc, but otherwise, no way. Oddly enough, the website is still showing 2015 models and not 2016.
This. If Acura did that, I'd take a closer look at the car, again. I feel like they mixed up the transmissions with the engine choices. Is Honda afraid the DCT can't handle the V6 power? Is there not enough room? I don't get it...

Acura cant pair the DCT with the SHAWD because the SHAWD makes too much torque for the DCT to handle.
that's the 8DCT.
They have the 6 or 7 speed DCT attached to the hyrbid RLX.
but it only mates up because of the hybrid.
Looking back at the 3G though, the transmissions DID improve in 07. Also, you had a choice of a 6MT. And the 3G was something crazy when it came out.
The 4G, even though ugly as fuck, let you still get a 6MT, and brought Sh-AWD to the table. At least there was something new to look forward to with that car. I wouldn't call it reliable though. Sounds like there enough issues with oil consumption, or whatever drivetrain component shitting the bed prematurely.
The TLX, I dunno, I guess you can get a DCT and that is a new step forward, but it's with the wrong engine. And it's nowhere near as fun as a 6MT. I know, emissions play a big role and is likely another reason the 6MT was axed. But besides for the headlights, it's not like you hear people raving about how awesome the car is (besides the fanboys).
I really dont understand HOW YOU READ THE SAME ARTICLES THAT I DO, but you dont know shiiiiet.

So my suspicions were confirmed. Is it even safe to mod the 2.4 TLX then? What can they handle?
Out of curiosity, JS and RS, if you had to buy a replacement vehicle today, coming from the 3G, would you buy a TLX? If so, which TLX?
If not, what would you buy, assuming you have up to 42k to spend? I'm guessing RS will say V, but is there anything besides that? What about you, JS?
