Oh Chad....

I love watching you go toe to toe with him Maj. If like to watch it in person because I'm sure you would pummel him to a pulp.

Thanks Maj,

I need some pointers. I'm waiting for my new lens to come in the mail so I don't have to use that damn kit lens. f5.6 :shame:

Glass is good.. but definitely get a decent tripod. I like to stay light, but the heavy duty ones have a purpose too. Also.. a couple hundred more for a CF tripod over an aluminum isn't always worth it. There are some very lightweight aluminum pods. That 2-3 bills might only be for half pound weight savings. Also get a handy gorillapod or similar, for times when you want to be light and use elements around you to setup a shot.

Yes, that's my next investment. I bought this cheap ass tripod like 4 years ago, but I need an actual sturdy tripod

Kev...I can give you some pointers.
I don't take a scientific approach and am decent with LR now.
I'm still a novice, but I can guide you because when it gets too technical, my mind shuts off. It's supposed to be a fun hobby for me, not calculus.

Joe wtf...why does that guy have to fkng start shiet not matter what. He sets it up to get questioned, then waits for it to get pointed out, then just keeps prodding to act like he's the bigger person. SO annoying.

Also...I'd be curious to see some of your photography work. Do you do photograpy?
I really would though...

I got a CF tripod from B&H when it was a flash sale: Oben CT-3531 Carbon Fiber Tripod With BE-108T CT-3531/BE-108T

It's very light, multiple stops, well built, i love it.

If the tripod comes with a head, definitely get reviews on it. Other than weight and ergos.. that's the crucial component that will make / break your shots.

J got in a spat with him at some point, because he fucking leaves it all out there like that (my ninja).

Chad got so livid that he asked to be permabanned and all history removed from the site. He came back like a week later, begged to have his account reinstated, etc.

The ball head on this one isn't too bad

I just don't bother to escalate with him...it helps keep my blood pressure down.
all fkng conversations with that guy end that way. I used to text with him...when he asked for the ban he was like lose my number. I was like...damn...we fkd. Was I bad?

I hate my tripod...if I throw my wide angle on, the base will loosen and drop down...it's not even ball pivot, it's plastic.

PS is powerful but at work I've moved to LR almost entirely for HDR corrections. Fewer steps = better. Moved from LR3.0 to 6.0, good stuff.

I have Lr4 too. I was able to get it for 70 bucks brand new. I was like what I look like getting LR6 with my virgin ass.

I wanted photoshop until I saw the price. I'm happy with LR.

It's pretty easy if you've played with Photoshop, although I personally do not use the cataloging/library features. I personally manage all the copies of my work as separate files given the sort of corrections I do.

I just put it on the library tab, drag and drop the HDRs I want to fix then the import dialog pops up with whatever I dragged and dropped and I just click import. I miss the time software didn't try to manage the way you organize your shit. You know, music players and image editors are getting like that now...
