Radar detectors aren't illegal in Alberta. The jammers are. There's been a few around the local edmonton car forum who tried getting away with it, like Joe stated doing, but they all horribly lost.
There's a bit more to these devices than I clearly know. I've never relied on them- I've heard that the police around here have equipment to outsmart even the best radar detector. Again, there was a whole thread about it on the local forum. Guys said they were basically ok 90-95% of the time, but not always.

Negative.. all frequency bands are tightly regulated. Any ACC system has to comply with the band restrictions. Most ACC systems use W band (77 GHz), which is outside of K/Ka and X bands (8 ~ 40 GHz). Some car systems use laser, which could give a false alert, but it would have to be a large aperture beam facing the front of the detector to set it off. These systems are usually short beam facing the front of the car (rear of detector).

Not for current job since all guys and field work. When we have office meetings with the chickadeez or I'm going out on a date or something, I do.

Which is why I have "vintage" cologne, all the way back to the first bottle of IRON I got for Christmas back in like 1990.
I mainly rely on my natural aroma, vodka and scotch, to do the job!

Yeah I only wear cutoff denim shorts and late '80s heavy metal shirts with the sleeves cut off so people know I'm the boss. Speak with a British Cockney accent though so they're never really sure.

to cologne - left that in high school but I used to rock Polo Blue, Armani Black Code, and Cool Water
to good personal hygiene
to Axe and all the knockoffs that came after it like Blade and Hacksaw 
to a light non-scented moisturizer or cocoa butter so I'm not ashy
