You guys have crazy rates on used cars. Best here when not buying in dealership is ~11%. Hence why I pay my cars cash, fuck that 11%.
Edit: Loan my mom took. Sucks to be his mom when you're too nice and you take a loan for your kid so he can look balla in a Civic.

Shit, my Accord was 2.x%
Almost, yeah. Rates for CC ~ 13% at best I believe. They got quite the racket going on. The only way to get out of it is to pay used cars cash or to buy a new car with like 1% rates. That's why I'm cheap as heck, after spending the lump sum of $10K on a 10 years old car on a given day you don't exactly have spending money left for car things.
If it was that easy, I'd have a loan too. Not like I care spending a bit of interest money over the course of a year or two if it means not being super strapped on cash until you recoup.
A lot of people like to pay for cars with cash for some reason. It sounds smart financially but from an economical perspective, it's not really.. Present value of money, say you dropped 30K on your car, now you're out 30K rather than drop 3K and have 27K in your bank account to invest or for worst case scenarios of when shit hits the fan.
as long as your ROI (investments) > interest rate, you'll be on the up and up
as long as your ROI (investments) > interest rate, you'll be on the up and up

I agree with shit like 1%, it makes no sense to pay the car cash, but 11% isn't one of these cases.

Another anamoly is finding people who even have 30k in their accounts. Not many people like that around. It seems as soon as the majority of people get money, they spend it. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Yes, but the problem is that the majority of people will never invest the remaining 27k because they either don't know how, or are too afraid to. If you're paying only 1% interest on the loan, sure, it can make sense to invest the money. If you're paying 5-11%, you'd better be making some good investments if you're gonna be making any money.
all circumstantial of course!
if i had 10% interest, i'd sure as hell try to pay in cash too!

RLX - For the 65 and over crowd. Overpriced car in general rather buy and Equus.

I was seriously happy to think that it had a V8 Hemi under the hood.. unfortunately it's just a trim level.

ILX.. think Civic Si, but not as douchy.. dumber though.
RLX.. yeah..
I put 10% into savings.. don't even think about it.. and another 20% into slush, rainy day + investment money. I think you should have a cushion in case you're out of work for an extended period of time, to make sure you can cover the mortgage and bills for a while until you're back on your feet. Of course you have a gubmint job so your bases are mostly covered, but you still want some walk around money just in case. The correction is coming.. save those pennies, the metal will be hot soon.
