Pennz Plat is comparable to M1 and Valvoline Synpower. I'm a M1 guy but I "need" to do my oil change soon and I'm not sure if I'll be able to get my hands on discounted M1 until I get tired of ignoring the MID.
And no, I do not intend to run Royal Purple or Amsoil, although the first one also has a discount for the 4.73L from $58 to $46.40. Pennz Plat is discounted from $52 to $33.79.
Jealous of you guys deals. But yeah, jokes aside HONDA BEST OIL EVER is overpriced in stealerships here. I could work my Honda contact but it seems stupid to bother him for an oil that I don't really want to run in the first place.

In canada, at least here, honda oil is manufactured by PetroCanada aka Suncor. There's no secret about it. You'll see the barrels clearly marked with petrocanada on them. I'm guessing it's just who honda set up a contract with.
