Q3 was my main game when it came out, I got invited to Quakecon but my parents didn't understand the importance of it and they wouldn't pay for me to go to Texas... no surprise.

Haha some of that shit too old. The first brand new computer my dad bought was a Pentium 3 500Mhz. It came with Windows ME. Holy fuck that was lame, moving from 98 SE to ME. Dad ended up going back to the store so often over the course of like a year they gave him a Pentium 4 1.5Ghz with XP on it.
Prior to that we had a used HP Pentium 2 400Mhz and damn it was better than the P3. That was pretty much one of my fav computers as a kid.

You're laughing but I had to repair some of these as late as 2010... some people are fin browsing the web with these apparently. Here I am complaining at work because my computer HDD has a 75mb/s throughput instead of the expected at least 125mb/s....

Age of Empires, Command and Conquer, all of the above. fun stuff
I was personally a Protoss fan myself (arbiter recall and cloak yasss)
Loved the occasional zerg fun though, nydus canal full of lurkers and hydralisks behind your base and then switch gears into a Guardians/Devourer's.. hehehe

The Nydus Canal rush was great too if the game got deeper...start up 2 rushes with Zergling and Hydralisks...then, while the guy is going OMG OMG...casually run an Overlord to someplace in their corner...spawn the Canal and go wheeeeee!

Boy was I ever wrong. I thought I was fast to build up my base? Forget it. And it was like he KNEW every darn trick in the book...and it almost felt like he was cheating and had some code (of course not) to see through my cloud and see what I was up to.

Yeah...well, no idea back then when information was not as readily prevalent and fast. When you were locally good and most people you knew online considered you the benchmark, you'd think some nerd in Korea would have nothing on you.

Yeah, this was also before Youtube and so, I didn't really have anything to study to get a better understanding how to beat them. I just knew their was fast and then, there was Korean-fast. Hory shet.

We all pitched in to get an FTP server up of all the hax0r-ed games and warez on a buddy's network who was money-bags enough to have a Cisco router.
This was around the time I discovered what pr0n was.
"What is this folder called ell-three-three-tee--pee-are-zero-en (l33tpr0n)?"
Little did I know, those perverted f*ckers started an entire collection...sorted by actress. I grew up knowing those Vivid actresses real fast.
