You're not the first one who said that. Dog was a shih tzu mix breed, yappy... I'm laying on the couch watching TV and try to slap him by swinging my arm over the couch arm. Shoulder went "plok". Didn't end up slapping the dog, yet he stopped barking. Thanks dog.

When I read "TB" I think tuberculosis. Or lately, Tampa Bay. 'Cause playoffs.

Damn Uhaul wouldn't make it up my friends driveway to go into his side yard. The tow hitch got stuck in the asphalt. So now it's sitting in front of my parents house.

Wife took the V out.. calls me.. rear tire's flat.. wtphoo?!
Drive out there.. sure enough. Soap the fucker down, put some air in it.. FFS!! huge fucking hole in the fucking middle of the tread. Whatever it fucking was, tore rubber away from the tread and punctured the tire from the outer tread (not the channel).
I plugged that motherfucker with a slim j and rubber jism (J's peen and sauce). Now I've plugged dozens of tires. Only failure I've encountered was a leaking plug after ~25k miles (tire was ready to be replaced at that point). What has me paranoid is whatever hit the tire wasn't fucking around.. and being upfront, I drive the V faster than I should. I can't even count the number of times I've gone trip digits (within reason and clear conditions, fucking thing is a rocket). Plus I burn up the tires pretty regularly (ice skating). To say the least, the tires take a beating.
I would have rather patched and button plugged it (read butt plug). But I was like fuck it.. it's late Sunday. I ain't trying to fuck around. So what I'm thinking is put some green jism in the tire.. I have the tire sitting on the plug right now. The green jism should load fill any other weak section or at least slow up another leak. Am I overthinking this? Also, I know the hulk jizz is supposed to be TPMS safe butt is it? Part of me doesn't want to fuck around and just get a new tire, but the F1s still have like 75% tread left, and new tires are at least going to be 300 a pop. Maybe pop is the wrong term to use.

I don't like adding slime, man...throws off balance, makes a mess inside there...
I say take it somewhere to be patched from the inside (butt plug) and re-balance it. Fk that...

I find it hilarious that you're the one driving like a d**khead (understandably) and she's the one that catches the flat...

Also.. friend has a manny 370z (stock) and wanted to see how they measured up. Too easy.. butt the best thing is.. we hit a corner at speed. The V was freaking flat.. no oversteer, yet the Z kicked out a bit. You could hear the tires fighting to stay compliant.
and here I am..

To Maj though: I usually get my tires from Costco installed and they always say 'dont use slime" because it voids the warranty and they won't repair it if it's been slimed. Can't speak on matters of TPMS though. If you're Out-of-pocket, then it might not really be a big issue but agree with J about balance issues.

Honestly...if the slim jim (you're talking about the skinny things you jam up in that bitsch then trim off the excess with a razor, correct?) stopped the leak and was fine...I'd trust it. I've always run them when I have a flat (read: not blowout or tear in sidewall) because I can install myself and it's tight and fine. I've never had a repeat issue with that same tire/hole due to the repair. I've done them between tread, on tread...doesn't matter...it seems designed to wear down with rubber.

AAA has come out and repaired my rental cars when they've gotten flats on two occasions now and used the butt plugs. I talked to the guy and he said this was an RMA approved way of patching... I didn't really care because it wasn't my car but just checking on RMA site.. and it's definitely not: Tire Repair
If it's still within the center tread, I'd just go get it properly dismounted and patched and call it a day.. save the $300 for dinner for the wifey

Slime dirties up everything, they're only good because they're easy. No garage guy likes them.
Conventional plug I've only used temporarily and it's supposed to be used that way.
I've went the whole life of a winter tire on a patch+plug that was properly cemented in though.

Funny story, a coworker of mine took some trail from Texas to the Arctic ocean. To prep her, I gave her a compressor, told her to get two steelie spares, just in case.. showed her how to replace drivebelt, jump the battery.. and last but not least, how to slim jim (tire repair, not J's penis).
I brought a dismounted tire to work that had a finishing nail in it. Had her remove the nail and then told her to clean out the area by using the gouger. She gouged real lightly, then she couldn't stick in the jimmy.. so I said stand back..
you got to be rough with her.. really grind the fuck out of it. After, she'll blow real hard, but don't be worried. Just calmly jam your slim jim in.. Press her in nice and slow with steady pressure. Don't go all the way in though. Push about 3/4 of the way in, she'll be real tight. Once you're done, 1/4 turn and pull out. Don't forget to squeeze some ooze on the jimmy before you jam her in.
She was like I was like:

Hell yes she did, not one issue.. except her trans eating it somewhere near LA after exploring the tundra. I warned her too.. I was like, you bought an Odyssey to do this trip?! Great engine, butt.. 4500 lbs + shitty glas trans designed for civic.. no bueno. She gutted the van, but, I guessed it. She was like.. you told me so.. I know. Some messicans rebuilt the trans in their sleep for only $1500.
