You may have missed the "it's detachable" part. I don't like having the dangly hose just flopping about all the time so I only bring out the sprayer when there is a job to do (gambled and lost) and then it goes away again.

Hmm. Just like a peenus!

Probably because if you're installing the detachable one, you're a cheapass so why go "higher end" for chrome.

So not so funny story: a little while back, I bought 5 oil filters for Wifey's Sonata, so that for the days I actually have to do an oil change, it's one stop less I have to do. Well, I went to change the oil a few weeks ago, only to realize that the crush washer for the drain plug is sold separately at that particular dealership

Well, I was changing the oil on a Sunday and already had it drained and there are no dealership parts departments open on Sundays, so fuck, I reused the old crush washer. Bad idea. The fucker started leaking oil. Well, me being the incredibly smart guy I am, I put it off for 2.5 weeks. I was either tied up with other shit, or would completely forget to buy the washers before the parts department would close. Finally, about three days ago, I got it done.

It was magic. I didn't want to drain the oil since it was still so new, so I threw the drain pan underneath, unscrewed the drain bolt while pushing it towards the oil pan, so it wouldn't leak. Once I got the fucker out, I plugged the hole with my finger, while with my other hand I managed to take the old washer off and slide a new one on. That was the easy part. The hard part was getting my finger away from the hole and getting the bolt back in place as fast as possible. Took me a few minutes to get comfortable with the move, and voila. I think I ended up wasting no more than 4 fluid ounces of oil.

What sucks now is I have this big fucking black stain on my driveway. Any idea on how to remove it, without the EPA knocking down my front door and arresting me for washing it down the sewer? I have the most white trash looking driveway in the whole neighborhood now

Justin took the gate with him.

I bought speakman for our bathroom shower heads after seeing that that was the brand they used in hotels where the water is insanely abundant. I also did the remove low flow mod to it.

Adam, spray with degreaser and scrub it down, man...

A little late ya skank
I kid (sort of) I saw those while shopping but the reviews said the hardware included were a bit crappy

The ones from tirerack are pretty damn good. All of the pieces felt plenty strong and the packaging protected it pretty well too..

Plus black > silver.. (once you go black )

I'm looking to install some overhead storage for boxes and stuff though, I may go a DIY route and just buy a bunch of 2x4's and sheets of plywood...

plus an excuse to finally get a compound miter saw

they don't look TOO bad. Just two studs as opposed to lag screwing into 5 studs via a crossbeam via tirerack's one.

Hyloft made a revised one that's similar to the tirerack one here:

Amazon.com: Michelin 01001 Multi-Tire Rack Storage: Home Improvement Amazon.com: Michelin 01001 Multi-Tire Rack Storage: Home Improvement
for 160...

Then there's the Michelin branded one here:
Amazon.com: Michelin 01001 Multi-Tire Rack Storage: Home Improvement Amazon.com: Michelin 01001 Multi-Tire Rack Storage: Home Improvement

for 110 minus 30 bucks!

damnit i should've shopped around more.. This would have paired perfectly with my PSS

Actually, since it folds up you could bolt a piece of ply to it and make a folding workbench!

Kitty litter to absorb what you can.

Then you can try a fine absorbant like talc or baby powder. Not sure what you canadians call it, maybe itsy-man bum-dust or something?

Or corn starch should work. Finely ground salt would work too but maybe not as good as the others.

Anyway, cover the area with that and let it sit for a while. Helpful if it's a dry day so it doesn't get washed away by rain (I think you call it sky tears?) or snow (not sure, you have like 110 words for snow, right?)

Then brush it off with a stiff brush. Or I suppose blow it with an air compressor. That should do a decent job of getting the bulk of the oil off. But either way - brush stiffy or blow it until it gets off. You know how.

Any residual you can try to use a degreaser. Simple Green (It might go by Easy Peasy Yella-n-Blu up there though) would probably do a good job and it's bio friendly. Bleach if you're still not getting the remains out and start to care a little less about the environment (it's not terribly good to dump to grade, but not the worst).

Just go that route. That's what I did in the garage, well sort of. I made a 6 shelf 4 tubs (those rubbermaid ones) deep. It was like 50 bucks in material. I want to do overhanging like I did in my last house, but right above my garage is my 4th bedroom....

That's my concern... I'd have to eventually rinse it off and I don't foresee my neighbors being happy that I'm washing oil down the storm drain...

I'm gonna try the powder stuff first that Thoi suggested.
