The 3G Ramblings & General Discussion Thread (Part 2)
TacoBella...the example you may have instead is say, getting a technical degree at tech school...versus a university/college diploma...
THAT may have no difference...and in many ways, the former has a decided advantage over the latter because well, the technical schools actually teach something that is applicable to the work place. Universities...not so much. BUT, that being said, as a hiring person, while it is the whole package, I do give a bonus point for those who achieved a university/college degree over someone who went to a community college to get a technical certificate.

But again...no solid line...it's the whole package. But, FWIW, my entire team all has university degrees from a technical field related to computers/IT. Not like I tried to hire all like this...just how it worked out.
Damn, I missed the party again.
Totally agree with you guys. I've been thinking about getting a PhD in EE, but everyone I meet that has a PhD in EE doesn't know shit about the industries for which they work. I've only been in ECM industry for 3.5 years, but I have enough experience (and critical thinking skills) to jump into any problem and fix it. Product design issue? no problem. Manufacturing test issue? Got it. Process validation? Piece of cake.
I really want to go work for a start up.

Intellect Award
I must say a few of you really impressed me yesterday with your intelligence! The conversations definitely shared a different side of you guys and weren't the usual silly nonsense discussed on this thread. One guy in particular really showed a vast amount of knowledge and wisdom, and the first place award definitely goes to him by a landslide. With no further ado allow me to present the award to.........
Yumcha
Congratulations!

Yeah, him and Maj often baffle me with how much they know about so many various subjects. Guess they DO make you pay more attention to your education when you're Asian.
2nd place was not as easy to choose as you all were so impressive! Let me say, no one should feel left out by any means! You all were effin spectacular in all your post, so congratulations to you all!
After much thought and careful consideration, I've come up with the winner of the 2nd place award. This guy started the intellect discussions, and kept his post very strong and impressive throughout the entire time! With no further ado, the award goes to.........
Majafo

They really are...she's nuts, but she has never had one sign of aggression at all...on the contrary, she's annoyingly and forcefully loving. Just NEEDS to get at your face to lick it.
and curious too...about every noise and smell and thing...brought some great life into the house after Sunny passed.

Now back to the name calling, discrimination, sex jokes, and complete bafoonery!
Who's ugly taco? Or did you mean "you're ugly, Taco"
I kid, I kid. I'm not going to start the stupid grammar war. This is a forum after all... Not a convergence of world geniuses. Not that you all aren't world geniuses. It's just... Ah, forget it.

Morgan knows the grammar...he meant YOUR ugly taco, Taco.
Jake, cute dog...got a neighbor with 2 that he walks without leashes. I also heard that he previously had 3 and one of them liked to chase ducks down to the canals (all our houses are on canals) and it literally got pulled in and eaten by an alligator in front of his face. Fkng sad...I don't let mine go near the water's edge...we're a stone's throw from the Everglades, duh.
