Van city rub and tugs are controlled by Triads.. true story. 
I have two uncles who served in Asian Organized Crime Squad with VPD. One of whom found a bomb wired to his car one morning. Shit went south after a decade of fighting the good fight. Both of them published, honored, super cop status and one of them fell from grace. Shit is a fucking movie not even John Woo could direct.

HEYYYY...speaking of Pho...I learned that my neighbor across the street and her mother 2 houses down are Viet. The middle neighbor, Buddy, told me the Mom makes him the baddest spiciest PHO he's ever tried. Gonna make nice with them and report back.

PS, the Utility "career" industry, it's low and slow. I'll never forget this one NY college professor I had, mover and a shaker type. He told me, never make someone repeat how to pronounce or spell their name more than once and always move to another company every 5 years and claim to have made 10K more than you did at the last job.

Oddly enough, there's about 20-30 Pho places in and around Edmonton, and at least a couple Asian rub n tugs too. I'm sure those are gang run also. Which ones aren't, lol.
A friend of mine works for bylaw for the city of Edmonton- she says that these rub n tug places need to be registered with the city and stuff... Apparently there is loads of them around, lol. No idea who goes to them. Looks like I'll have to do some investigative reporting... By trying each one out

most of them are essentially forced to serve your needs. They hold their passports, money, etc. Make them live together in one house, limited travel. I used to spot on a couple of joints for pops when he was doing investigations.. was like.. should I go in, get a confirmed visual. He'd smack me upside the head.

not sure if they have up there in the arctic circle, but hostess bars are pretty much the same. Forced prostitution / servitude. But then you're like.. I never got any trim at a hostess bar.. it's because you never asked and then paid mamasan 4 bills.

You know what's funny- I see ads in the paper for these places looking to hire, lol. They also stipulate what kind of "employee" they're looking for, in terms of looks and age range, while offering "excellent wages".
Honestly, I can see many university chicks working places like this to pay for tuition, or whatever else. Same with peeler bars. Show some clam, make a couple hundred bucks, call it a night. Big deal!

I hate to say this...but, no well-achieving girl is going to strip at a peelers. As much as we dream of it...nope. I won't confess to knowing all sorts of women but I have seen my share and known my share. The ones who are hot AND good in school? They are not working at the peelers to "pay for tuition".
Bee. Ess. These girls are smart enough to get a scholarship and if they are working, working as a TA or in some organization as part of a co-op program.
Ain't happening, sorry. Girls working in bars...peelers...yeah, maybe hot...but, generally...not that smart.

It's true...the

Yup, there's lots of those dummies here. Oddly enough, I only have two friends that drive trucks. And one of them is a company vehicle. It actually gets really shitty for me when I need to buy big shit because I don't know anyone else who drives a truck to help me haul it home. The guy with the work truck is always working. The other guy lives across the city so it's not even practical. How is that even possible living in this province?????

Nursing is a bad example...you definitely have your "grades" of nurses. Trust me. While they all can be RNs, they are classified differently in hospitals. And there is a definite pecking order.

THAT may have no difference...and in many ways, the former has a decided advantage over the latter because well, the technical schools actually teach something that is applicable to the work place. Universities...not so much. BUT, that being said, as a hiring person, while it is the whole package, I do give a bonus point for those who achieved a university/college degree over someone who went to a community college to get a technical certificate.

The thing is, RNs can do some courses after getting their RN designation to become a B.Sc.N. What's the difference between the two? Literally, $1/hr for pay.
I have 5 or 6 friends that are nurses. Most are RNs. One or two are B.Sc.Ns. When it came to getting and retaining jobs, it was all the same. The only thing that counts is seniority. At the end of the day, everyone just says "I'm a nurse". No one cares where they went to school.
Might be different between the provinces. Remember, I'm in the land of gold and opportunity, falling from the sky (or so the government tells us)
