That's still dickish to me. If the guy is a big f-body guy.. assuming it is a common issue.. you should let him know and it won't be a big deal. He might kick back and ask for a couple hundred off but it threw the CEL while you owned it. You did the brakes.. be the good guy all the way. I don't know you from Tom (TB), Dick (PB), or Harry (Wagon), but if you start doing shit like that, it becomes a downward slope. You're still going to make profit.
I'm just confused as to why it'd throw a code one time. Let's say I check it tonight, it's a Cylinder 7 misfire, and I clear it and it doesn't come back for another 20k miles. Is my theory, that a single hard stumble could trip the CEL, any sort of valid? Obviously new spark plugs would be step one in fixing the problem if there actually is one.
Let's just be thankful this isn't an LT1 car with "Optispark." Apparently those misfire in gentle rain because the damn distributor isn't sealed properly. Or something.

If it were me.. and I see misfire. Top end seafoam, can of B12 + fresh tank of gas, new plugs, IR scan on the top and bottom of CAT. Let her idle and see if it comes back. If not, then I'd be satisfied. Worst case.. valve job or plugged CAT / bad o2 sensor. Fairly easy fixes.. core out the CAT and run it back / replace the sensor. Valve job.. well.. depends on how committed you are to resolving it. I'd sell it full-disclosure on that one. I'm assuming it only has one CAT?

Had a buddy with an S2000 call me last night to borrow my code reader. I knew my house was opposite direction of where he left the S parked (at his job) so offered to go help him trouble shoot. Probably coil pack...error moved from misfire 3 to misfire 1 after swapping those...changed plugs to be sure...nothing, still running rough and kicked the CEL after clearing.
Probably something simple...but yes, honesty is always the best policy, even if it kills the sale. I have to sleep at night.

If you clear the car and drive it a cycle and it doesn't come back, I'd call it a fluke. Otherwise, I agree with Majofo and you should disclose it. Karma is a bitch. Don't pull a Frosty.

Whenever I see him in the building he just looks like an old drunkard ravaged by alcohol, empty glossy eyes, prone to anger, trying to go through his miserable life as quickly as possible. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, as much as I like my shuteye.

Did you mean to quote me on that response?

Absolutely. This is the reason why I couldn't sleep last night.

My girlfriend bought water plant balls a few days ago, little balls that you drop in water that grow like 400 times their size and hold water so you can put them near plants roots to water them. She just likes fucking around with random dollar store things.
Turns out it's a superabsorbent polymer that's non toxic, only real danger being that it could technically dry you out or obstruct passages if it got lodged somewhere, so children should not swallow them or put them up their nose or stuff.
But I'm a full grown man, and yesterday I felt like doing science, and my GF is having difficulties finding a job so I'm trying to cheer her up. This type of polymer does not get broken down by the digestive tract and does not get absorbed either...
So to make this short, I'm expecting to see a crystal clear watery ball come out eventually. It was ingested at 23:00 GMT-5.
SCIENCE!

On an absolutely unrelated note, I can't find my JB weld anywhere. Don't want to buy more to do my switchblade key project. *shakes fist*
Want to start doing that while I have my vise set up on a loaner portable/folding work table and the GF isn't around. Life must go on.

Hmm, it's running on the gas that my friend had in it when he sold it to me. Who knows where it came from or how old it is. Good call there.

Pleasant is a matter of perspective. I'm expecting a FLOOP sound.
She's a front seat gal, otherwise she gets car sick.
