The 3G Ramblings & General Discussion Thread (Part 2)

Ha yeah, January is month of noobs everywhere. Doesn't help that the 3G TL is getting cheap for high mileage ones too. I don't really understand people who buy 150K+ miles cars and start putting too much money on it. The AT is a known failure point after all...
Maybe you're born with it. Maybe it's Maybelline.

Plus it was 2005, which might not mean much to you guys but here for the licenses when the car is 10 years old or more they don't check the pricing in the book, they just tax you on what the seller sold it to you. So you can ask the seller to "sell it to you for $1" and pay 9.975% taxes on that dollar instead of the actual value of the car.
So buying that 2005 at $9200 I would have paid a total of $10117 because of the taxes for the car (licenses not included, $250) and needed tires for both summer and winter, timing belt job and who knows what other repairs...
The AT TL I got was a 2004, paid $8600 for it @ 85K miles on it, summer tires on their last summer, winter tires good for 2+ winters, weathertech molded mats, never involved in an accident and NBP so that was a pretty easy choice.

No doubt, man...
I'm just saying that if I were in the market for a car, any car. Manual transmission would not be negotiable for me, I'd either broaden my scope of area, or look at another car.
I'm hellbent on manual...almost always have been.

And that's why I love you. I'm in the same boat. No idea what the hell I'll be driving in five years from now though. Me thinks the options will be quite scarce

I thought it would bother me that it was an AT, but really I'm fine with it. Dropping off the GF in montreal stuck in traffic I'm glad I don't have to fuck around shifting gears. Mostly scared about the reliability issue of the AT than concerned about the performance side of the TL. I bought it because it was a decent package overall, if I wanted a more sporty car I wouldn't have went with a FF configuration anyway.

I must admit, I'm a big fan of Gina Divine. She's tiny, and I dunno, there's something about her I find irresistible.
