Recommendations: I Need a decent enough laptop for the kids. Pretty much browsing web capabilities, no games will be downloaded. Just the games that they are required to do.

my nostalgia is coming back and I’m revisiting the OG Power Rangers robots.. I think the last time we talked about it, did you say that the Soul of Chogkin models were the best ones out there? I’d love to have the OG Megazord, DragonZord, and Titanus and would prefer that they actually transform, do you know if the SOC models do?
Yeah. I recall that...hoping you look into it dude. It's an investment though given that they aren't the cheapest per se. The Megazord you know so fondly is the Daizyujin from the Japanese series.
Anyways, if you want Bandai's amazing Soul of Chogokin version, it's GX-72 and yeah, it's tits. Solid solid and quite articulated...there are lots of comparos online of how it goes against the vintage release -- which was alot limited in its movement compared to the redo in the Soul of Chogokin line. Bandai's GX-78 would be Dragon Caesar which is Tommy's mech from the US series and of course, the big Titanus is well, Titanus (GX-85). Yes, they all transform (gattai) and do their combinations as you recall from the TV series. Comes with generous portions of diecast which is great and transforming them are just satisfying. No sesame oil needed for lubing yourself.
Here's a pic of the trio in my display cabinet that I'm still slowing putting parts of my collection into:

Shiett muhhhfuhkkaa.. what age? Eldest is only like 6/7 right?
You might be best getting a decent tablet followed by a mid-tier microsoft surface or 2 in 1..
Younger kids will have more interactive shit.. where touchscreen is a must.. tablet
That's would be my recommendation
But if the kids know computers.. a 2 in 1 or surface could serve you well
If you get a 2 in 1 or surface, it's probably not really leaving the house..
Screen size, weight, battery not primo factors
For best value..
15", 8GB RAM, 128GB HD, 720p cam basic bitch.. cheap.. reliable.
Lenovo S340 is on sale quite often..
Amazon has this sucka for an okay price.
I've seen configs like this in the mid 3s.. but I wouldn't even sweat extra savings.
I got Jr a Chromebook 2-in-1like the second week when it started to look like we'd be doing this for a while.
Went with the Chromebook because I've been curious how well they work, and I think the district uses them. So far it's worked great.
There was a panic buying rush though, so cheap options weren't in stock anymore and I just happened to get something okay. I didn't want to spend a fortune for something that's going to get best up, and was looking around two-fiddy. Got this for three:
Yeah that one tickled the right spots. Decent laptop form factor (I can use it with my grownass man hands), touchscreen since kids these days don't know how to do anything without touching the screen like an iPhone, and the fold-back tablet style is a nice option.
So far, I'm pleasantly surprised with the Chromebook. I expected more of a supersized phone OS, but it really seems like a Computer-computer that just doesn't run Windows or Applesauce.

Great toys. And yes, heavy enough for you kill someone with it. This is why I don't own a single gun.
OMGGGGGGG. Of course you have them I appreciate the links and certainly am in no rush to buy them now.. Do you think it would be cheaper in Japan if I just waited until I made a trip over there and then just brought it home with me?

knowing kids, I bet they would try “installing” it nevertheless

Given when these toys were released, they may likely be sold out in most Japanese hobby/toy shops. I would suggest that the only vendor over there that MAY have any leftover stock is Amazon Japan and possibly 2nd-hand places like Mandarake (and you'd just find a MISB one if there is any). That being said, you do have to pay duty and you'll have to check what the price of EMS + duty equates to versus the joints I linked to in my other post -- those places are free shipping in general. For me, given that I moved to Socialismland, I am screwed if I buy in the US or Japan since I'd rather not ship the toy to a family member in WA and then, have them forward it to me...too much hassle and probably ends up being more. So, I just order usually directly from Japan. Your situation is different and frankly more advantageous because of free shipping within the US.

Ah yeah...the mecha toymakers are all about repaints to maximize a mold. I think the black-green version got marked down in some places. Check Entertainment Earth, Toy-Source...otherwise, just keep an eye out on BBTS as they have markdowns occasionally.
I can't tout the SoC line enough. It's truly masterful.
