after doing some research on youtube (gawd some of those videos were painful to watch), it seems like this is pretty easy to replace. I might give it a go myself once I get a new one.

It's easy as taking a shit in the morning. You unplug the old one, remove any securing hardware. Place the new one in.. it will have all new cables with enough to run your board and several peripherals. Doooo eeeeettttt.... I replaced mine just a few months ago. It's not uncommon for it to fail after so many hours use.
