what is the big issue with these sport luxury sedans and having 4wd+stick? It shouldnt cause such a huge problem, considering the throttle system is already drive by wire, the RLs engine already 14 more hp, which is enough to negate the diferences that one would say would ruin the AWD system, and lastly, subaru, mitsubishi, bmw, etc have seemed to figure this out effectivly.
it drives me up a wall

2007 Type-S swaybars
According to acuranews.com the 2007 Type-S has the following sway bars sizes.
2007 TL Type-S
Front 1.06 in. diameter, solid (27.0 mm)
Rear 0.79 in. diameter, solid (20 mm)
2005 TL 6MT
Front 1.07 in. diameter 0.20 in. wall thickness (27.2 mm) x (5 mm)
Rear 0.79 in. diameter, solid (20 mm)
So it appears a stiffer front bar is available from Acura, the curb weight of a Type-S compared to a 2005 TL is 70lb heavier with a 61.5/38.5% F/R weight. A bigger front bar will flatten out the lean in turns more but changing it alone will induce more understeer in turns.

ETA on 07's?
I'm sure it has been asked an answered, but this thread is well over 100 pages and I just don't have time to read it all.
I'm considering getting a new TL to replace my 02 TypeS. I was looking at the 06 last night, but think I might wait for the 07 mainly for the XM Nav Traffic.
Just wondering how long I might be waiting. I think I'm gonna pass on the S this time, don't really want to spend the extra $ since the base model is making about the same HP as what I have now.
Thanks

I'd get the '06 TL, especially if you don't care about the S-type. I got my 06 last month and love it. I got it for $32K including NAV, wheel locks, mud guards and 2 years included service maintanance. Why wait a month or so and have to pay more for a new year vehicle that hasn't really changed. I have heard the XM Nav Traffic isn't all it's cracked up to be from this thread earlier on. I think the '06 is nicer looking anyway. Not liking the foglights and chrome down there. Plus your insurance will be lower because it's a year old model year. Just my

On a related note, Does anyone know if the audio system can read MP3 files on a home-burned DVD+/-R ? I have a feeling the answer is no, but I can still ask just in case.
I hope Honda/Acura releases the 2nd gen iPod Music Link soon with the contents (artists/titles/playlists) of the iPod displayed on the navi screen.

Yea, I was considering it as well, but while I'd like the Nav traffic and address book transfer the 06 is still a hell of an upgrade over my 02, and it's probably not worth the difference between sticker on the 07 (around 36k prob won't be negotiable for a few months) and what ppl seem to be paying for 06's (about 31-32). So if I decide to do anything it'll be an 06...

AOL Review Of Type S
Headline: An upgraded engine, stiffer suspension, new wheels and sportier seats top off the sport version of Acura’s venerable TL. But does front wheel drive hold it back against BMW and Infiniti?

Only for those who need peace of mind having a RWD. Like the article said, it doesnt mean the BMW and infiniti is faster just because of that setup.

Last time I checked Honda/Acura will not sell to rental companiess. Toyota didn't used to either, but they started to a few years back.

As to non-T/S...I have not seen anyone mention the new A/T in the 07 TL....it will handle more torque and allow you to hold first in the sports shift.. ..may allow a little more aggressive shift points and/or more aggressive gearing??? Reason for my wait...not wanting a T/S...and hearing of A/T issues...

I'm sure if I wait a few weeks for the 07 I'll be paing full MSRP.
So is that list of additional features really worth about $6k? I would really like the NAV traffic and the backup cam, but I can't really justify that kind of money for it.
