It's almost like light bearing noise - I searched here first and came across some threads on this issue but my understanding is that Acura fixed it for 2008 - my car has 80,000 kms - whatever that is in miles and just got the car last week

Any ideas?

I know its very hard to describe the noise, but you're going to have to provide more details.

because its very hard to diagnose what this noise is without actually hearing it, or seeing it in person

Since I am used to driving manual, it's almost like driving at a higher gear in low speed

Vibrating/moaning noise

It is so annoying to the point that I want to speed up for the car to shift to a lower gear to get rid of that noise at the risk of getting a speeding ticket

Around 45-50 MPH in 5th gear, yes, the car tends to produce a droning sound due to the load (or lack thereof) on the engine. A damper was added (not sure which year, but was before 2008), but it did not fully correct the sound. It used to bug me, but I got used to it and barely ever notice it.

is it whining like as if one of the gears are straight cut and really muffled to hide it?

No I wouldn't say it's whinging - it's more like droning

I think it's what Blooze said. Mine does it too. It shifts into 5th and makes a deeper noise than usual.

Mine does the same thing, it has since it was new. Like Blooze, I have just gotten used to it over time and hardly notice it now. 08 Base here.
