Xpel Paint Film and Window Tint

2020 Fathom Blue Pearl RLX I recently purchased. I have all of my cars windows tinted and XPEL Paint Protection Film applied. I am a high milage driver for business. Window tint makes a huge difference for heat rejection and annoying nighttime headlamp glare on long distance trips
Same place that did XPEL on my 2019 Corvette, Detail Authority in Fairfax Virginia. Could not ask for more professional than these guys, masters of their trade.
Xpel Ultimate Paint Protection film applied to entire front end forward of A-pillars (entire hood and front fenders, front fascia, headlamps, and mirrors). 8mm thick on everything except bumper which is the new 10mm thick Xpel film. Windows (no windshield) are all Xpel Prime XR Ceramic 35% all around. A perfect job and the tint compliments the dark Fathom Blue Pearl paint.

$2200 for Xpel paint film and $600 on Xpel Prime XR ceramic tint. Do your homework on choosing the right installer

Looks good! The red or blue were my top choices when I was looking. Fathom Blue was a very hard color to find without traveling to either coast when I was looking.

I did the same with XPEL PPF on my RLX. I did PPF on the sides because I've noticed I was getting a couple of rock chips on the doors. My RLX looked like it was dipped in dirt from the windows down in winter driving; while, the top half was almost spotless. I'm also trying something new and added PPF on the outside of the windshield to see if it helps against chips, cracks, and pitting. So far, no issues with AcuraWatch cameras in windshield: https://www.getexoshield.com/

Looking good. Always loved that blue. Just wished they had allowed the blue/espresso color combo.

Me too. The espresso color offered on the RDX interior would have been perfect, I think the RDX espresso color is bit lighter than the RLX espresso interior.

Stellar looking job from the pics. If you are in NOVA, good luck not getting pulled over for having more than 50% tint upfront.

^^^^Agreed. I lived in NoVa for quite some time back in the '90's. I never had a problem with the police. It was always inspection if I took it somewhere other than where the vehicle was purchased. I could never understand how the tint could be legal when installed at a dealership (although I know they outsource most of the time), but when I went to inspection, it all of a sudden was not legal and I would fail inspection. I did find out years later that some tint darkens over time.

Question to CadiGTi, what is the other decal on the trunk lid? Is that a dealer logo/decal?

"Rallye" is the dealer's plaque (Rallye Acura, part of the Rallye Motor Group in Roslyn NY). I normally do not let dealers put their tag on the car, but this one actually looks ok and actually looks like it belongs there

I have had 35 tint on a few cars and never had an issue. 9 years ago I lived out west of here in Ashburn Va and had my dad's Lexus LS up here from Florida. The Lexus had limo tint on the rear window only. I had the car in Ashburn for just one week and actually got pulled over pulling out of my subdivision. The Police Officer gave me a warning as a (presumed) Redskins player went flying down the road into Redskins training park with limo tint all around on their Ferrari......I made sure to make mention to the officer! We both had a little laugh over it....

Gorgeous color on your car! I'm getting Xpel done next week same coverage as you. Did they PPF the front lower lip spoiler (black gloss piece) and the fog lights? I'm thinking about asking for coverage for these areas too as no doubt rock strike will cause damage.

They did Xpel the black lower lip splitter but not the fog lamps. I believe the decorative plastic grill over the fog lamps would have to be removed to properly cover the fog lamps
