Depends on which window. The front two can't be tinted at all AFAIK. Or at most its some worthless tint like 80%. You can paint the rest of them black if you want as long as you have 2 side mirrors.

NO tint on front windows either passenger or driver is legal in California. I can't tell you how many tickets I got for that. It's $65 and a fix it ticket. Back windows and rear as dark as you want provided you have outside mirrors on both sides of the car. Stupid law? I think so, but they have resisted every challenge, including the doctor ordered reduction on sun exposure. (Personal experience)

Yep no tints on the front...actually, only something 80-85%...basically the tint that our windows have stock is the legal limit. For the backs, you can tint all the way down and it would be okay.

Sorry, I think you dudez is all wrong!!! :p

There was a thread in Car Talk on this a couple days ago:
http://www.acura-cl.com/cgi-bin/ulti...c&f=1&t=009421

Here's the link within that thread:
http://www.autowindowtintings.com/ma...ion=California

- 4" strip at the top only
- Up to 70% on front sides
- Any % on rear and rear sides

I tried wading through the California DMV vehicle code but got lost trying to find anything intelligible! I think it said the front sides maximum was 88%...

How much tint does the mooroof have? I don't care for dark tint anywhere aroudn the car and I was wanting to get that much tint for the car.

I have 5% on the moonroof and highly recommend it. I never used to have the damn sunshade back EVER because it used to fry head. Now I leave the sunshade back all the time and get a small, comfortable amount of light in via the moonroof.
