rear window tint

Good morning all. Quick question. I just got my window tinted and it looks fine but I've notice the rear window tint doesn't go all the way to the top. It stops were the rear window has the dots. Is this normal or should I take my car back?

I would think most places would bring it to the top. However, small bubbles are created when done that way. Some places may paint over the black dots. If it doesn't look bad how your's is set up, I wouldn't worry about it.

The place I got mine done at offered 10 dollars to paint over the dots. It was simple spray paint but I love it. From inside it's obvious that you pained it,but from outside it looks completely dark, kinda like the edge of your windshield, so it matches very well. If the person you gots yours know how to do it properly, I say go for it. You 'll like it

I was offered black vynil to cover the back dots. Most places won't go over them as they are too hard to get the tint to stick. Someone had theirs sanded down and it ended up rusting. I'd go back and see if they can do a vynil strip over it or something.

When I had mine tinted, I asked the guy why he didnt go to the top and he told me that it doesn't stick the dots real good, so it may not hold down the road. That is why he only installed up to the dots, but he did use black vinyl across the dots and it is perfect, it holds and looks good. I would highly recommend the vinyl across the dots.

The person that tinted mine just put a vinyl strip up there. I haven't had a problem with it.

When I had mine done the tint shop advised me that there wasn't a guarantee that the dots would not make it appear that air was trapped under the tint. I had expereiced that with my 94 integra at a different tint shop so I just had them tint up to the matrix. I'm fine with it and it still looks good.
