OEM Heads Up Display (HUD) Part #?

I had my windshield replaced by my dealership with what was supposed to be an OEM windshield and in all fairness it does have an Acrua logo on it, but they did contract out the windshield replacement. So first time, the HUD was extremely blurry, almost made me feel sick to look at it, same night windshield leaked, went back to the dealership the next day. Windshield replaced again as well as HUD. Well its still blurry and its darker, not very white and almost pixelated and to top it off on an angle.

I am trying to find the part # of the OEM windshield to see if maybe whoever they are contracting out to is screwing up.

Anyone?

take it back to the dealer and let them diagnose, no need to do it yourself.

It looks like there are two distinct windshields (both of which appear to be discontinued?) one with rain sensor & one without?
Look on your customer copy of the dealer repair invoice, if an OEM replacement was installed they should list the specific part number.

And this is exactly what I am talking about.

There is a windshield with or without rain sensor, but what about Heads Up Display? The MDX has three different windshields:
  • without rain sensor
  • with rain sensor and without heads-up display
  • with rain sensor and with heads-up display
I truly believe this is where the problem is.

It appears you may need a HUD enabled or 'polarized' windshield.
When I did a cursory check on OEM vendor RDX windshields, they did not mention HUD.

Go search for windshield in parts at dreamshop.acura.com.

You can put in your vin and get the part num specific to your car.

I just had the windshield replaced at the dealership, and picked it up drove away and noticed the HUD looked like:

The glass has an Acura logo on it, and the dealer says that the part number they installed is correct when they look it up by the vin. The only thing they can think of is either the wrong glass was sent vs what they ordered (some kind of packaging mixup) or the glass itself is faulty... it will be going back in to have another windshield put in, but I would have "felt better" if they could have said oh sorry we ordered the wrong glass... this approach of lets change the windshield again and cross our fingers it is good makes me cringe...
